Based on geophysical explorations of the Moon and Earth, along with information gleaned from rocks at the surface today, there is understanding of the basic structure and processes at depth. By their first birthday, infants develop sensitivity to language-general (e.g., transitional probability (TP) between syllables) and language-specific (e.g., lexical stress pattern) cues to identify word boundaries. Across 5 experiments, I investigated two questions: 1) how do English learning 8-month-old infants segment high TP (TP=1; HTP) words in non-native languages that have a different rhythm and prosody? 2) how do English learning 8-month-old infants represent nascent word representations across indexical (i.e., talker’s voice), segmental (i.e., onset consonant) and suprasegmental (i.e., stress pattern) information? In order to evaluate the psychometric properties of a measure of Teacher Candidates’ classroom dispositions, the Professional Competencies, Attitudes, and Dispositions (ProCAD), it was administered to 189 yoked rater triads (i.e., Teacher Candidates, Mentor Teachers, and Faculty Supervisors) during the 2018-2019 school year at two timepoints (i.e., Middle & End of professional experience) According to results from exploratory factor analyses, the ProCAD yields one factor. Internal consistency reliabilities for the ProCAD are strong (Range: "α = " .88 – .93). Interrater reliability was assessed through various methods. The purpose of this qualitative phenomenology study was to explore special education teacher retention in a large school district in Texas and the perception of campus principal’s support as defined through the domains from the Texas Principal Evaluation and Support System (T-PESS).
