Background: Maturation is an important factor for exercise. The maturation effect on some anthropometric and motoric characteristics of students aged eight years was examined in this study. Material and methods: 535 primary education students voluntarily participated in this study. Payton Mixon, a junior musical theatre major from New Caney, Texas, and Sammy Campione, a senior musical theatre major from Waxahachie, Texas, tied for first place in Ouachita Baptist University’s 24th Annual Mary Shambarger Competition for Singers held Tuesday, Feb. 22, in Ouachita’s McBeth Recital Hall.

The competition is named for the late Mary Shambarger, professor emerita of music at Ouachita. This unit is centered around “Drums Girls and Dangerous Pie” and “Wonder”. These books are part of the required curriculum for on-level 7th graders within Lincoln Public Schools (LPS) in Lincoln, NE. In survey research from western, educated, industrialized, rich, and democratic (WEIRD) populations, students report predominantly studying by rereading, highlighting, and summarizing, which are generally inefficient for long-term learning. It is unknown, however, whether, and to what extent diversity, in the form of cultural context, socioeconomic status (SES) and sex, affect choice of study technique. In this exploratory study, we investigated the frequency of use of 10 common study strategies used by WEIRD students in a sample of respondents (N=795) from a developing country (Brazil). هدفت الدراسة إلى معرفة معوّقات استخدام التقويم الواقعي في مدارس محافظة إربد من وجهة نظر المعلمين، والكشف عن الفروق باختلاف متغيّرات الجنس، والمؤهل العلمي، والدورات التدريبية، والخبرة العملية، والمرحلة التي يدرّسها، والتخصص، ولتحقيق أهداف هذه الدراسة قام الباحثان بتطوير استبانة تم إعدادها لهذا الغرض، تكونت من (49) فقرة، مقسمة على (7) مجالات من المعيقات تم تطبيقها على عينة حجمها (204) معلماً ومعلمة. أظهرت النتائج أن متوسط معيقات استخدام التقويم الواقعي قد بلغ (3.41)، وقد كان المتوسط في أعلى مستوى له في مجال المعيقات المادية (3.61)، وفي أدنى مستوى له في المجال المتعلّق بالطلبة حيث بلغ (3.06)، كما أظهرت النتائج عدم …

College is a time of increased stress and anxiety. The current changes in attendance and methods of instruction due to COVID-19 have demonstrated even higher levels of stress, anxiety, and mental health issues. Tailoring interventions to the specific needs of a campus community has been proposed as an appropriate means to the current crisis. This study identifies the mental health needs of students at a rural college as they pertain to the effects of the pandemic.

Paraeducators often support students with the most intensive academic, life, and behavioral needs, which includes students with intellectual and other developmental disabilities (IDD; e.g., autism spectrum disorder; ASD), yet they typically enter the classroom with inadequate preparation to perform their roles effectively. Using a multiple-baseline research design replicated across participants, we evaluated the effects of job-embedded bug-in-ear (BIE) coaching delivered by the teacher on paraeducators’ use of behavior specific praise (BSP) while teaching transition-age students with ASD. Findings confirmed each of the three paraeducators immediately increased the percentage of occurrence and rate per minute in which they offered BSP. They …

Poverty is a global problem that has impacted the mental well-being of students. Research shows that in the US, one out of five children under the age of 18 live in poverty. This literature review sought to determine the effects of poverty on students’ mental well-being. Researchers have done in depth studies on poverty and their findings illustrated a close connection between poverty and an increase in mental health risks. The COVID-19 pandemic illuminated the digital divide revealing an expanse of inequity among students who had access to the internet, personal devices, and parental support during remote learning and those who did not. Framed with the theoretical lens of equity literacy, this paper details the results of a survey completed by 56 Minnesota district level technology directors. The survey asked how school districts were addressing the technology inequities experienced by students and families while in hybrid and distance learning models. The purpose of this study was to determine whether developmental English faculty instructors’ employment status had an effect on grades in a freshman composition course (English 101) among community college students while using functional role theory as the theoretical foundation.
