NCAA domestic college athletes can now financially benefit from their name, image, and likeness (NIL). The purpose of this article is to “educate” athletes on the new NIL rules in financial literacy. With new NIL income flowing to athletes, federal income tax consequences of these transactions must be addressed. This article results in a detailed introduction to the applicable federal tax rules regarding NIL income for athletes to stay in compliance with those laws. As an accounting professor who has been teaching subjects in the domain of Financial Accounting (FA) for more than 10 years, I have observed the worrying phenomenon of reform stagnation in my accounting education program. An endowed scholarship has been established in Ouachita Baptist University’s Hickingbotham School of Business honoring Jim Rothwell, assistant dean of the Hickingbotham School and assistant professor of accounting at Ouachita. The Jim Rothwell Endowed Scholarship, which will be awarded to a freshman business major, was announced Friday, March 11, during the Hickingbotham School’s annual Business Administration Day luncheon held on campus.

This paper describes the Just-in-Time Review developed for an undergraduate accounting course. The review materials cover five topics in algebra. Students take an online assessment, and online materials are made available to help students catch up in those areas where some review is recommended. This paper is a case study of the development and implementation of the Just-in-Time Review for an accounting course at Saint Louis University.
