Last year we celebrated IMSA’s 25th anniversary. With the commencement of our 212 Seniors, we closed this incredible chapter of IMSA’s history knowing that these young men and women have joined a long line of IMSA alumni whose life work has made an important, positive impact. While the past 25 years have seen IMSA graduates become great leaders in new fields and new careers, they have also seen even more IMSA alumni making less famous but equally as important contributions.

In addition to our Seniors, we also “graduated” more than 3,547 students and 727 teachers whom we served last year …

Skills in working in teamwork are demanded from graduates, and these are ever more likely to be over the internet. Horizon (2011) calls for this experience to be reflected in students’ project work. The use of Wikis has been posited as a tool for collaborative online knowledge creation, increasing students levels of engagement, and social constructivism (Wheeler and Wheeler, 2009: Lai and Ng, 2011). IMSA Founding Father and Nobel Laureate Dr. Leon Lederman has spent the better part of 90 years tirelessly improving science education. Because of his legacy, Illinois, the nation and the world will reap the benefits for generations to come.

On April 14, 2012 at IMSA’s 25th Anniversary Gala, members of the IMSA community celebrated the 90th birthday of a state and national treasure—Dr. Leon Lederman. It was a fitting tribute for a man who changed the lives and futures of generations of talented students in Illinois by giving them a home where they could reach their full potential.

This paper introduces Dialectical Enquiry (DI) as a research method used in the study of customer /student experience and its management (CEM) in not for profit as higher education. The (DI) method is applied to senders, receivers of the customer experience across six English universities were staff, and students were interviewed to gather real world data using an imposed dialectical structure and analysis. By conducting sixty interviews from the actors involved in the sending and receiving of customer experience an extensive data base was developed using NVivo 8, note taking and collection of communication materials. In order to escape the danger of stagnation, the SIEC-ISBE needs fresh perspectives. A strategy to increase membership numbers will be introduced in this paper, based on a study instigated from the Austrian chapter. After a short introduction of the status quo of the SIEC-ISBE, the paper will focus on the USP (Unique Selling Proposition) and the benefits of SIEC-ISBE membership. Some selected recommendations (for instance lowering the threshold for attending conferences or increased targeting of students) form the completion of this thesis.

This research found that using the FCB Grid to develop and evaluate a mental health levy campaign has merit. Likewise, stigma has both positive and negative impact on a mental health levy. City officials often use focus groups in economic development. However, findings indicate that group dynamics can threaten validity when seeking consensus. Data suggest a strong rebound effect for participants to return to their earlier pre-focus group assessment beliefs.
