O trabalho caracteriza a organização e os conteúdos dos currículos adotados na escola secundária brasileira de 1838 a 1900, tomando como referência o Colégio Pedro II. O estudo classifica as disciplinas em quatro conjuntos curriculares: Humanidades, Ciências, Matemáticas e Estudos Sociais. Analise, quantitativamente, as disciplinas dos conjuntos curriculares, sua frequência e distribuição nas series, e a carga horaria atribuída elas.

O trabalho apresenta os resultados de um estudo que teve como objetivo identificar os livros didáticos de Ciências utilizadas no Colégio Pedro II, entre os anos de 1838 e 1900. Na investigação, vinte e quatro autores e vinte e seis livros didáticos foram identificados.
The article presents the results of a study whose objective was to identify science textbooks used in the College Pedro II between the years 1838 and 1900. In the investigation twenty-four authors and twenty-six textbooks were identified.

O trabalho discute o efeito que as reformas educacionais efetuadas entre 1838 e 1951 teve sobre a composição e a estabilidade do currículo secundário brasileiro. Introduz o Coeficiente de Equivalência, que quantifica o grau de similaridade entre pares sucessivas de currículos, permitindo a identificação das reformas que resultaram em maior e menor mudança curricular.
The paper describes the effect that the educational reforms instituted between 1838 and 1951 had on the composition and the stability of the Brazilian secondary school curriculum. O estudo demonstra que em dezenove currículos adotados na escola secundária brasileira, no período 1838-1942, houve uma correlação negativa significativa entre a proporção de carga-horária designada que estudos de ciências e humanidades. Os resultados apoiam as observações encontradas na literatura, as quais sugerem que a importância atribuída a cada uma dessas áreas, nos currículos estudados, foi interdependente.
The study shows that in nineteen Brazilian secondary school curricula adopted during the years 1838-1942, there was a significant negative correlation between the proportion of hourly teaching loads assigned to science and humanities studies. Computerized instruction has captured the interest of many educators as a means of individualizing language study for their students. The quality of this individualization is maximally dependent on the degree to which a computer can understand what the student communicates to it usually by typing a message on the keyboard. This article provides an overview of this student communication, or input: its types, its recognition, and some uses of its recognition. Written at a time when the teaching of 'History' was declining in Australian secondary schools (1970s), this is a view from the classroom by a classroom teacher. The author trenchantly defends the place of 'History' as a subject in Secondary schools, and opposes its teaching by non-history trained teachers, as well as the introduction of 'thematic' approaches. Instead he defends a broad 'History' curriculum, the exploration of cause and effect, and for Senior students, their introduction to the notion of 'historiography'.

Scribner, “The Lost Ideal” was published in the Sydney University student newspaper 'honi soit' on Tuesday, 3 October 1967. It was the foundation manifesto of what was to become known as the Free U, initially operating out of rented premises in Redfern (Sydney) before moving to premises in nearby suburbs.
