This study was conducted using a qualitative single-case, embedded design in a 4th grade elementary classroom with five participants. One purpose of this inquiry was to evaluate the differential effects between digital and print text on reading comprehension of literary texts on students with ADHD. A second purpose of this study was to evaluate and determine the differential effects reading digitally and from print have on specific off and on-task reading behaviors with these same participants. Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) has been the subject of much research and controversy. Although ADHD was once believed to affect only children, recent research indicates that the symptoms of ADHD persist past childhood and adolescence, well into college age and adulthood. ADHD negatively impacts several life domains, such as perceived general health, college education, employment, social life, and psychological health. For some, this negative impact results in lowering the level of quality of life (QOL) or life-satisfaction.
