Alice Fairchild Heath majored in Sociology, served as Kappa Kappa Gamma Registrar, and was a member of the Spanish Club, and the Women's Sports Association. She is the recipient of the 2013 Alumni Loyalty Award. An excerpt from the award citation follows.

The Kemp Foundation's Teaching Excellence Award Ceremony Programs
Selected by the faculty Promotion and Tenure Committee and nominated by members of the campus community, the Kemp Award recognizes a faculty member who brings spirit, passion and scholarship to the art of teaching. Recipients are seen as indispensable to their discipline, enriching the University’s intellectual life within and beyond the classroom.
The current Kemp Award winner, Professor of History Tom Lutze, gives an address during The Kemp Foundation's Teaching Excellence Award Ceremony, which replaces the traditional Honors Day Convocation. Retiring faculty are also honored.

The "#12MonthsIn6Words” project is a partnership among the McLean County Museum of History, Illinois State University, Illinois Wesleyan University and Heartland Community College. It’s meant to commemorate the one-year anniversary of COVID-19 invading McLean County. The project asks community members to reflect on the year in just six words. Deborah Halperin, with Illinois Wesleyan's Action Research Center, is one of the project's organizers. She discussed the project with WGLT's Dana Vollmer.
