Personal Reflections
After six years at IMSA as President, I will be retiring from full-time employment at the end of this academic year to pursue personal interests. I know that this might come as a shock as we have so many great future plans and much work ahead of us as an IMSA community and family. I want to share my thought process because IMSA has been a great opportunity for me to contribute and because I value the relationships that I have formed over the years.

Personal Reflections
It's hard to believe that we kicked off the new Academic Year 2020-2021 with Convocation on Monday, August 17, 2020. If you joined us, you know that while it was our very first virtual convocation, it provided us with inspiration and encouragement to begin the new year with confidence and realistic optimism.

Weeks Of Welcome - Pme Session Ii (Fall 2020), Illinois Mathematics And Science Academy, Peer Multicultural Educators
Weeks of Welcome
The session was an opportunity for the members of PME and each cultural organization represented under the PME umbrella to showcase their organizations, points of contact, and upcoming events. The students attending the session will now be able to put a name with a face to build that connection to these organizations.

Welcome to the 2020-2021 Academic Year!
As we commence this new Academic Year, the word that comes to mind is: "strange." We begin the year seeing others two-dimensionally, as flat images in Zoom screens. Yet, let's remember that we are fully human with all the yearnings and desire to return to campus as soon as possible.

A Psychometric Investigation Of A Mathematics Placement Test At A Science, Technology, Engineering, And Mathematics (Stem) Gifted Residential High School, Hannah Ruth Anderson
Publications & Research
Educational institutions, at all levels, must justify their use of placement testing and confront questions of their impact on students’ educational outcomes to assure all stakeholders that students are being enrolled in courses appropriate with their ability in order to maximize their chances of success (Linn, 1994; Mattern & Packman, 2009; McFate & Olmsted III, 1999; Norman, Medhanie, Harwell, Anderson, & Post, 2011; Wiggins, 1989). The aims of this research were to (1) provide evidence of Content Validity, (2) provide evidence of Construct Validity and Internal Consistency Reliability, (3) examine the item characteristics and potential bias of the items between …

Personal Reflections
Over the past few months, I have written and sent out a host of communications on various topics, including fall plans and student fees, budget reductions, the status of SIR, @blackatisma and updates on COVID-19. Today, I step back to share some of what’s in my heart about our situation at IMSA. Warning: this is my “personal reflection.” As such, I’m going to share some of my thoughts, feelings, and reactions from a deeply personal perspective. I am not announcing new policies nor decisions in this Personal Reflection.
