This presentation at ENUG(ExLibris Users from the Northeast US) discussed several integrations that Binghamton University has accomplished in the 5 months since they went live. New Self Check system from Bintech replacing bibliotheca units. Integrating with the Banner system for Faculty, Student, and staff loads and exporting fines and fee information to Banner. Publishing to Google Scholar, OCLC and other systems to automate updating of content to these services. Also discussed was how to load content into Primo VE.

Industry standards have a significant impact on business as a means to eliminate waste, reduce costs, market products (e.g., for quality, safety, interoperability) and lessen liability (Thompson, 2011). Consequently, an understanding of and ability to use standards, agreed upon practices among interested or vested parties, is a critical workplace competency for those engaged in business and industry. To have a workforce competent in the use of standards, higher education curricula must be developed to integrate standards education at appropriate points within the curriculum. As a result of changing laws designed to create access to higher education, an increasing number of individuals with disabilities are attending college. However, post-secondary outcomes of individuals with disabilities continue to lag behind their non-disabled peers. While there is research on the needs of students with disabilities once in college, we know little about the social factors shaping their decisions to attend college. Likewise, over the past two decades, there has been a growing prevalence of adoptive families, including adoptions across racial/ethnic groups. Individuals with disabilities of all kinds experience discrimination and stigma as they go about their lives; ableism, the systemic discrimination against people with disabilities, is rampant across many cultures. These negative attitudes towards disability manifest in many different ways, from denying people with disabilities agency over their bodies to refusing to provide public spaces they can safely navigate. The present project seeks to use interviews as a way to explore and reflect on the experiences of several people with disabilities that are not visible to the average observer. Collaborating with your campus teaching and learning center is a key way to center the library at the heart of conversations on creative pedagogy and student learning. Librarians at a small college library will share how their collaboration has enabled their information literacy program to ripple across campus – expanding their teaching practice beyond the usual one-shot and shifting faculty perceptions of librarians as classroom partners. The presenters will describe how they have contributed their expertise to teaching center programming and administered a series of center-funded faculty grants for information literacy, digital literacy, and teaching with archival materials.

Raising Leaders: Parental Leadership Modeling And Parental Attachment, M. Shane Stillman

The objective of this research was to determine to what extent parental leadership modeling and parental attachment relate to leader courage, self-esteem, and emotional intelligence? Participants (29 men and 21 women) were selected from varying backgrounds and experiences to measure the effects of parental modeling and attachment as a matter of a leader’s life-story. Survey instruments included the MLQ-5X, RAAS, PCMS-15, RSES, and WLEIS-16. Results were analyzed using multiple regression and descriptive statistics. The findings indicated that leadership modeling has a statistically significant relationship to self-esteem (p= .01), but not to courage (p= .58), or to …
