The writer will develop a three-week program of class study in the areas of conservation of our outdoor natural resources and recommended camping skills. The three-week class session will be followed with a one-week camping program. During the course of this study, the major objective will be to design a program of conservation for intermediate school students. The purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of two methods of reinforcing learning gained from programmed material in seventh grade geography classes. The means used for evaluating effectiveness were: (1) comparing retention of the factual knowledge of the material by students exposed to the two methods immediately after completing the material, and, after a time lapse of six months, and (2) comparing the ability of students to transfer their factual knowledge of the material immediately after completing the material, and, after a time lapse of six months.
