Wilde-Stein Club Receives Student Senate Approval, The Maine Campus

Social Justice: Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion

The General Student Senate gave its final approval Tuesday to the Wilde-Stein Club, recognizing it as a viable student organization. Forty two senators voted for approval, four were against, and one abstained.

Muslims Celebrate End Of Fast This Week, Muslim Students' Association, University Of Maine

Insert flyer from the October 15, 1974 issue of The Maine Campus: This week Muslims everywhere celebrate Id-al-Fitr, a feast which signifies the end of the month-long fast of Ramadan. The UMO chapter of the Muslim Students' Association, a North American Muslim student religious organization, will celebrate the "Id" with a get-together open to everyone, Thursday night in the Memorial Union's Bangor Room. The local chapter's 20 members will serve refreshments and special desserts from Muslim countries of the Mid-East, including Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Swimming At The University Of Maine Orono, 1974-1975, University Of Maine

General University of Maine Publications

The University of Maine at Orono is in its third varsity swimming season. Its swimming complex, completed in September 1971, is an excellent facility for competitive swimming and diving. The pool contains eight lanes and a separate diving area. Our goals at Maine are to build an outstanding competitive program—one which will be representative in New England and along the Eastern Seaboard. The results of the 1973-74 season were very gratifying and showed a big forward step being taken in our young program.

Bad publicity and a minimal number of campaign solicitors available this summer in the Bangor area have lessened the probability that the Second Century Fund will meet its projected goal of $3.5 million by the original deadline, mid-November.
