To fill this curricular void, I have organized a seminar series entitled "Estuary and Coastal Processes" for the fall of 2003. The series will feature prominent estuary scientists and managers from around the nation. There will also be one scientist from Northern Europe who studies estuaries in there that are very similar to those here in Maine. Funds to support this program have already been pledged by the Vice President for Research, the …

Dance Concerts, University Of Maine- School Of Performing Arts Mar 2003

Dance Concerts, University Of Maine- School Of Performing Arts

Cultural Affairs Distinguished Lecture Series

Each year has brought increased interest in the Dance program. The Dance department is faced with increasing interest each year. More and more students want to declare Dance as a minor and the program is fitted to capacity. The problem with the program is that all faculty members are part-time and are paid per course. It is essential to compensate that person for the time she spends choreographing and facilitating both the fall works-in-progress and the full spring concert. Therefore, the Division of Theatre/Dance …

Much Ado About Nothing, University Of Maine- School Of Performing Arts

Cultural Affairs Distinguished Lecture Series

Shakespeare's timeless tale of fiery wit, confused identities, lost love and love scorned is Marcia Douglas's choice for spring 20M, as she brings to the stage Much Ado About Nothing. It has been four years since the School of Performing Arts has presented a Shakespearean play, so this selection will well-serve the needs of theatre students and provides students from across campus with a cultural outlet. Marcia will offer students the opportunity to study Shakespeare in a fall course, then participate in the play in the spring.
