This is the March 1, 1940 report of the student Picture Lending Library of Brown and RISD. The Lending Library began in the spring of 1933 through a Carnegie Corp. grant and was housed at the art galleries at Brown and RISD. Pictures were purchased from various dealers. The idea was to promote having artwork as a part of one's surroundings and not as a study aid.

Other things went smoothly with the exception of the week after the hurricane in September 1938. The roads were in bad shape. It was discussed that there was a need for a full time person to continue the work of the Community Art Project.
