Balancing Act: An Exploration Of Polarities In Personal And Professional Life, Hana Mamnoon
Creativity and Change Leadership Graduate Student Master's Projects
This purpose of this project is to explore the concept of polarities. I have been using creative problem solving for years, but recently, I have come to realize that some of the complexities we face in our everyday lives are not actually problems to solve, but rather are polarities to manage (Johnson, 2014). By undertaking this project, I aimed to build my skill set around polarity management in order to help me develop in both my personal and professional spheres. This project allowed me to explore some of the literature of polarities as well as put the concepts into practice …

Implementing An Arts-Based Initiative Pedagogy In A Business School Creativity Course, Joseph Ruiz
Creativity and Change Leadership Graduate Student Master's Projects
Traditional education and training methods are not well suited to the task of equipping the new workforce. Different skills are needed to succeed in an increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous environment. Arts-based initiatives provide a new model for teaching twenty-first century job skills by leveraging an emerging arts-based pedagogy as a fundamentally different approach to teaching, training, and equipping a new generation of workers, uniquely qualified to function in this new environment.
The new pedagogy is based on four arts-based processes:
- Skills Transfer
- Projective Technique
- Illustration of Essence
- Making

Developing A Leadership Curriculum 'Innovation, Creativity And Leadership', Pamela Zh Pauwels
Creativity and Change Leadership Graduate Student Master's Projects
Growth and innovation are key drivers to a company’s long-term success. Creativity (creative thinking) is a necessary condition for innovation. Supervisors and managers who are able to build a positive work environment that enables creative and innovative behavior have a competitive advantage. This Master's project focuses on the development of an in-company leadership curriculum to provide leaders and supervisor with theoretical background and a “ toolbox ” to develop their own and their team’s innovative and creative behavior. A pilot version of curriculum was well received and validated the need to gain more understanding on the topic of creativity and …

Creative Collaboration On A Creativity Book, Jane Harvey
Creativity and Change Leadership Graduate Student Master's Projects
Based on existing roles as writer and designer, two Master’s students partnered on one project. This project was dually about the creative product and creative process. The final product result is a book on creativity, but much of the project learning was about collaboration during the creative process itself. The project included the creation of written and visual content and a production-ready book layout on the subject of creativity. This paper describes the process followed to create a fast reading, jargon-free book with a special academic end section.

A Movement Tool Kit for the Divergent and Convergent CPS Guidelines:
Instruction Cards and Activity Floor Mats
Movement is as natural to humans as breathing is, and, yet, passivity starts early in schools. We are taught to sit still and in silence for long periods of time. By the time we reach adulthood and enter the workforce, we have almost forgotten our sense of embodiment. This lack of movement is counter-productive, not only to learning but to the development of creativity as well. For this project, I designed a tool to recapture the joy and playfulness of movement. Furthermore, the …

Designing An "Information-Experience" Using Creativity Science Theory And Tools, Stephanie Belhomme
Creativity and Change Leadership Graduate Student Master's Projects
An “information-experience” encapsulated by a technological/digital audio-visual tool presents data and potentially meaningful information to prompt actionable knowledge concerning: “unspoken creative process elements;” their profound impacts on both how well our “physiology of creativity” functions; but also on how well foundational creative thinking and behavioral prerequisites (energy, motivation, imagination, and ownership) are leveraged.
The product: 1) introduces the user to one component of the CPS (Creative Problem Solving) Facilitation Process - Exploring the Challenge; 2) features a content specific component which prompts exploration of the many correlations between societal, organizational / community, human physiological / behavioral data, and the direct …

The Creative Coach: Exploring The Synergies Between Creative Problem Solving: Thinking Skills Model And Non-Directive Coaching, Trevor J. Mcalpine
Creativity and Change Leadership Graduate Student Master's Projects
This project looks at the similarities and differences between the most recent version of Creative Problem Solving called Creative Problem Solving: Thinking Skills Model and the approach to coaching known as Non-Directive Coaching. Creativity practitioners are challenged to find opportunities of engaging in formal full-blown, group-based Creative Problem Solving sessions. There is a need to find other, less formal ways of helping people use their creativity. The Thinking Skills Model’s design allows it to mesh with the creative process in other content areas by making the basic concepts of Creative Problem Solving transferable to those other contexts. Non-Directive Coaching …
