Existing Precast Company Condition In Indonesia With Five Innovation Processes For Continuous Improvement, Ranti Hidayawanti, Vincent Gasperz
Journal of Project Management & Construction
It is revealed that Indonesia’s Innovation in 2021 is ranked 87th out of 132 countries based on the Global World Index. It is a two-place drop from 2020 where Indonesia was previously ranked 85th. The sectors that appear to have the lowest innovation scores are the business progress sector, human development and research, scientific output, and creative output. This innovation rank indicates that business people in general, including in the precast concrete business sector in Indonesia, have not made good innovations in working on and maximizing their market potential and result in the weak competitiveness of domestic companies with foreign …

Pricing Strategies In Global Channels: Considering The Effects Of Parallel Trade, Yuan-Mao Kao, Yang Yang, Shih-Fen Cheng, Cheng-Hung Wu
Research Collection School Of Computing and Information Systems
Pricing a global product differently across multiple regions is a common but controversial practice. Although price differentiation helps capture unique market characteristics, it also encourages parallel trade, which may affect the overall corporate performance of a global company. We study this problem with a single global business unit (GBU) and multiple local business units (LBUs). The GBU manufactures a product and sets a transfer price for supplying the product to all LBUs, and LBUs decide retail prices for their respective regional markets. Customers can purchase products in any region by comparing LBUs’ prices and other parallel-imported factors, and we construct …

Managing the performance of intralogistics operations, that is logistics operations within facilities such as manufacturing plants, order fulfillment warehouses, ports and terminals, and retail stores, is critical in fulfilling customer expectations. Traditional decision-making for intralogistics operations is based on historical data, typically collected over long-range intervals with significant processing delays. However, nowadays, Internet of Things (IoT) applications are used to gather detailed real-time data to make dynamic decisions. These new data sources provide challenges and opportunities for operations management. We provide an overview of prominent IoT technologies in four domains: manufacturing, warehousing, ports and terminals, retail, and other emerging areas. …

From Allies To Enemies: Factors Affecting Suppliers Climbing The Value Chain, Reed Muehler
Mountain Plains Business Conference
This paper creates a theoretical model for analyzing the likelihood of a supplier climbing the value chain and becoming a new competitor. The model includes four areas of analysis, the complexity and importance of the item being sourced, and the level of total interdependence and type of strategic alliances between the firms. By using this model, a company could look at the likelihood of their suppliers climbing the value chain. This analysis involves giving different levels of strength to each factor, which will create the overall level of likelihood.

In many scientific applications, data follow a pattern indicating a rapid decline in the probability of survival over time. The Rayleigh Pareto distribution is often used to model these patterns, but it sometimes lacks sufficient accuracy in representing the points that occur at the beginning of failure. In the practical aspect, most people are exposed to sudden death as a result of respiratory infection, especially in old age, so we need distributions that are more consistent to solve these problems. The aim of the research is to study a new formula for the Rayleigh Pareto distribution by adding an additional …
