JOHNSON CITY (Feb. 18, 2020) – Seven minutes – that’s how long each of the five competing teams will have to convince the audience that their service project is worthy of a $5,000 service grant from East Tennessee State University. The public is invited to be a part of this “Shark Tank Style” competition at the ETSU Millennium Center ballroom on Thursday, Feb. 20, at 6:30 p.m.

JOHNSON CITY (Feb. 18, 2020) – A group of students at East Tennessee State University Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy were featured on the cover of the American Pharmacist Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists’ (APhA-ASP) Student Pharmacist magazine.

The theme of the photoshoot in the November/December 2019 bi-monthly magazine was “Personal & Team Development” and featured students on the ETSU Basler Team Challenge and Aerial Adventure Course completing team-based activities. JOHNSON CITY (Feb. 17, 2020) – East Tennessee State University’s Department of History will host a free public talk by Holocaust survivor Sonja Dubois on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 4 p.m. in Rogers-Stout Hall, room 118.

Born Clara van Thijin in Rotterdam, Netherlands, on Oct. 19, 1940, Dubois became a Holocaust child survivor in July 1942, when her parents were deported to Auschwitz.  She was adopted and raised by a Dutch foster family, first in the Netherlands and then in the United States, without fully being told about her biological family and true identity.

This free public Story Slam will be held Friday, Feb. 21, at 8 p.m. at JRH Brewing, 458 W. Walnut St.  Donations at the door are welcome.
