JOHNSON CITY (March 4, 2021) – Students in ninth or 10th grade at one of 14 area high schools who are interested in achieving their dream of attending and graduating from college may be eligible to apply for the Upward Bound program at East Tennessee State University.
Upward Bound is one of seven federally funded TRIO programs at ETSU targeted to serve and assist low-income individuals, first-generation college students and individuals with disabilities. Activities are provided at no cost. High school students who enroll in Upward Bound are four times more likely to earn an undergraduate degree than students from …

JOHNSON CITY (March 3, 2021) – East Tennessee State University will offer a minor in Nutrition beginning fall 2021 in order to meet a growing demand in the health care workforce and among its students.
The new minor will be housed in the ETSU College of Clinical and Rehabilitative Health Sciences (CCRHS). To complete the minor, students will take 18 credit hours with courses addressing topics such as community nutrition, nutrition in sports and health, communication in nutrition, and others.

A look back at the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic shows the many ways that East Tennessee State University prioritized the health and safety of the campus community while continuing to serve its students and the Appalachian Highlands community. JOHNSON CITY (March 1, 2021) – Cloud Wise Academy, an affiliate member of the East Tennessee State University Innovation Lab, is launching two six-week courses: WordPress for Beginners and Coding for Beginners. Classes begin March 23 and run weeknights from 6-8 p.m.
