Research Aims: We analyse the impact of lean operations implementation on the performance of an Indonesian shoe producer, identify key success factors of the implementation and propose further improvements to increase company performance Design/Methodology/Approach: A mix of quantitative and qualitative methods is employed. Comparisons of operational and financial performance before and after implementation are conducted to analyse the program's impact. In-depth interviews with six representatives from the shoe producer and its vendor are conducted to rank the key success factors and gain insights into their lean operations implementation. Research Aims: Work-life balance (WLB) and employee engagement are regarded as factors or catalysts with the potential to ensure a firm's continuous growth. Hence, imbalance between work and personal life causes higher stress that might lead to greater turnover intention among employees. As such, employees' ability to achieve WLB with organisational support should lead to higher job engagement, commitment and better job performance. This study examines a holistic view of the link between WLB, job engagement and turnover intention. Cash Holding Or Net Debt, What Is Relevant For Indonesian Firms?, Himanshu Joshi
The South East Asian Journal of Management
Paper investigates the firm level determinants of cash holdings by Indonesian firms. It also examines net debt as substitute measure for cash holding in firm’s financial policies. Sample comprises of 483 Indonesian companies listed on Indonesia stock exchange. Study finds that firms with robust cash flows, and higher cost of capital hold more cash. Firms holding greater noncash liquid assets have moderate cash holdings. Cash holding is most relevant for financially constrained firms, and growth firms. Net debt appears to be most relevant element for low growth firms. No hedging firms are indifferent about their cash holdings and net debt.

Research Aims - This paper focuses on the institutions that the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) project will affect. By employing institutional logics theory, this study scrutinizes academics and business practitioners as institutions and the cultural context embedded within them. Methodology - A mixed method of newspaper data analysis and semi-structured interviews was used to obtain comprehensive data from both sources. This research aims to investigate why there is low insurance purchasing in Indonesia. The research framework adopts the theory of planned behaviour in exploring the insurance purchase intention behaviour of Indonesians. Furthermore, this research introduces health value as the moderating variable on the relationship between attitude towards insurance purchasing and the intention to purchase insurance. We take 311 insurance holders from five Indonesian big cities as the sample. The results show that perceived risk and perceived usefulness play important roles in the attitude towards the intention to purchase health insurance. This research aims at studying an elderly employment model for the Thai automotive industry. Mixed methods with a sequential exploratory strategy were utilized. Grounded theory was employed by using in-depth interviews to investigate the characteristics of elderly employment in the Thai automotive industry. This study aims to delineate the key socio-emotional needs important for voice behavior. To do this, we examine individual and contextual factors as mechanisms underlying how psychological ownership and perceived support influence employee voice behavior. Employing survey research of 210 employees from two big companies in Indonesia, analyses revealed that perceived supervisor support had direct and indirect effects on voice behavior, and job-based psychological ownership is a crucial mediator of the relationship between organization-based psychological ownership and perceived supervisor support on voice behavior. With a robust recent history of reform and opening, joining of the World Trade Organization, and negotiating a myriad of regional and global trade agreements, Vietnam has emerged as a promising destination for foreign direct investment (FDI) and cross-border mergers and acquisitions (M&A). In this paper, we provide an overview of Vietnam’s inbound mergers and acquisitions and review the two main driving forces of inbound M&A, which are the legal framework reform process and the equitization of State-owned enterprises. We close by providing directions for future research in the area of cross-border M&As.

Musings of thirty-six college students from three higher educational institutions in the Manila, Philippines were used to look at the constructs of physical appeal and its power to influence leadership. By thematically analyzing the musings of the students, the research found physical appeal concepts that are associated to leadership. The study revealed that the students perceive leadership in two ways: from “within” the leader such as skills and knowledge, and from the “outside” where leadership is associated to goals, to influences, and to authority. This study aims to analyze the effects of social capital—namely structural, relational, and cognitive dimensions—on crowdfunding performance using Kitabisa.com as a case study for 2013-2015. Using robust ordinary least squares methods, we find two important results. Structural dimension, which is measured by Facebook friends owned by an entrepreneur, affects crowdfunding success. The cognitive dimension, which is measured by the number of words that are written by entrepreneurs in the platform, also affects crowdfunding opportunities in order to wage a successful campaign. This research aims to determine the level of interest by farmers in using the services of formal financial institutions, especially digital financial services (DFS). The methods of the research were descriptive statistics and SEM analysis. The objective of this research is to analyze the influence of person–organization fit (P-O fit) on work–family conflict (WFC) and job satisfaction (JS) relationships at Bank Rakyat Indonesia, Aceh Regional in Banda Aceh. The sample includes 127 employees, those who have worked more than two years. The data are collected via questionnaire. The equipment of data analysis is structural equation modeling (SEM), which proceeds using analysis of moment structure (AMOS). The significance of employment for people with disabilities has gained interest among researchers. The successful inclusion of people with disabilities in the employment settings depends on the employers’ perspective towards their integration in the mainstream workforce. This review examines literature over the past 25 years with an attempt to assess the employers’ perspective and specifically, the factors influencing their perspective towards inclusion of people with disabilities in employment.
