The new Director, Dr. T. C. Dunne, was born in Fremantle where he received his primary and secondary education.
After winning a Government exhibition and the Henry Seeligson scholarship at the age of 16, he enrolled in the faculty of Agriculture in the University. He gained the degree of B.Sc. (Agric.) in 1925
