Keurig Dr. Pepper Internship: Development Of A Tool In A Big Data Environment To Uncover Risks And Opportunities, Lindsey Ross
Marketing Undergraduate Honors Theses
Selling and sales management professions permeate job application websites. Sales is often associated with a pushy used-car dealership and cold calling. These practices are necessary, but selling, especially in our increasingly consumerist society, has long influenced and is a part of almost all business professions. You could argue that almost every employed individual operates in some sort of sales function due to the current job landscape. Whether this includes working directly with the sale of a product or even selling one’s self to a company or client. Selling in the retail space is understandably the heartbeat of the company, especially …

Upward Cross-Class Interactions At Work: An Investigation Of Emotional And Behavioral Outcomes, Emily Sue Corwin
Graduate Theses and Dissertations
Cross-class interactions—when an individual from a lower (higher) social class background interacts with an individual from a higher (lower) social class background (Truong et al., 2021)—are ubiquitous in the workplace and serve as a vehicle for the reproduction of inequality (Gray & Kish-Gephart, 2013). Substantial research has demonstrated that social class background matters, as individuals from working-class backgrounds face challenges in the job search process and may be less likely to be hired (DeOrtentiis et al., 2021; Fang & Saks, 2020), earn less money (Fang & Tilcsik, 2022), and are less likely to emerge as leaders compared to those from …

Establishing A Management Performance Measurement System; Defining And Selecting Kpis, Dimitrios V. Siskos
Publications
Managers and constituents of industries are increasingly concerned about measuring and managing organizational performance. However, launching a new measurement system goes beyond defining new metrics or developing new displays of existing data. However, as Bourne and Neely (2003) point out, there is some evidence that many of these implementations are not successful. This paper initially examines the most difficult elements in establishing and launching a management performance measurement system. The next step after the establishing of a performance measurement system, is to specify the essential elements in defining and selecting KPIs. Unfortunately, different people have very clear and different definitions …

The K-means algorithm is a well-known and widely used clustering algorithm due to its simplicity and convergence properties. However, one of the drawbacks of the algorithm is its instability. This paper presents improvements to the K-means algorithm using a K-dimensional tree (Kd-tree) data structure. The proposed Kd-tree is utilized as a data structure to enhance the choice of initial centers of the clusters and to reduce the number of the nearest neighbor searches required by the algorithm. The developed framework also includes an efficient center insertion technique leading to an incremental operation that overcomes the instability problem of the K-means …
