The Reception Of Anglo-American Contractual Standards In Selected Droit Civil Systems: German And Polish Examples., Dr. Pawel Mazur, Dr. Hab. A. Szlęzak
The Reception Of Anglo-American Contractual Standards In Selected Droit Civil Systems: German And Polish Examples., Dr. Pawel Mazur, Dr. Hab. A. Szlęzak
Loyola of Los Angeles International and Comparative Law Review
The reception of Anglo-American contractual standards in droit civil countries is not as straightforward as it would seem at first glance. The language expressing notions such as “breach of contract,” “representations & warranties,” or “indemnities” cannot be merely copied into agreements subject to the law of droit civil countries. They need to be transposed thereto, i.e., rendered in terms of legal institutions characteristic of the legal systems of such countries, to achieve the same functional results as those achievable in the place of origin of such notions.
The authors discuss the process of such transposition in the examples of Germany …

From Fury To Forgiveness: Exploring The Mediating Role Of Emotions In The Relationship Between Crisis Type, Corporate Social Responsibility Fit, And Organizational Outcomes, James Ndone
Communication, Media, and Culture
This study investigates how three types of emotions (anger, affective empathy, and cognitive empathy) mediate the relationship between crisis type and corporate social responsibility (CSR) fit and organizational outcomes such as purchase intentions, negative word-of-mouth (nwom), organizational reputation, as well as forgiveness. An online 2 (crisis type: product-harm vs. moral-harm) x 2 (CSR fit: high fit vs. low fit) between-subjects design (N = 412) was conducted with the participants recruited via CloudResearch, a crowdsourcing platform. The findings indicate that anger significantly mediates the relationship between crisis type and crisis outcomes, with product-harm crises increasing anger and leading to more negative …

The African Journal of Information Systems
This study aimed to determine whether South African-listed companies use social media to engage with stakeholders. Emerging economies are experiencing rapid growth, which increases the need for transparent communication to build trust with investors to facilitate resource exchange. Social media has changed many aspects of communication by offering instant, interactive channels that can reach numerous stakeholders. However, there is limited research into the utilization of social media for stakeholder communication within emerging economies. This study aimed to address that topic and examined the social media practices of listed entities to determine whether companies use Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn for …

Warhol Speaks: How One Museum Leverages Communications Strategies To Engage In An Era Of Innovation And Value Creation, Kristina Kaufman, Peter Kaufman

Through the lens of sensory perception theory, several themes emerge as communication strategies that aim to offer visitor engagement and added value. This paper analyzes and highlights how museums can offer multisensory experiences which cater to guests’ ability to cognitively invest and engage with the …

The Impact Of Rising Interest Rates, Bank Deposit Betas, And Credit Risk, Abby Craig, Jarrett Grose, Justin Tersoglio, Noah Vanhoy, Brooke Vivenzio
James Madison Undergraduate Research Journal (JMURJ)
Inflation of the U.S. dollar drove the Federal Reserve Board to enact four interest rate hikes of 0.75% and additional smaller hikes between March 2022 and April 2023. This paper examines how interest rate hikes affect bank deposit betas and credit risk for community banks, hot money banks, and alternative lending institutions based on data from March 2022 to April 2023. After analyzing data from the Federal Reserve Economic Database, this research found that bank deposit betas increase as interest rates rise, that community banks’ betas increase at a slower rate than hot money banks’ betas, and that the level …

The Link Between People's Social Perceptions Of Cultivated Meat Eaters And Their Acceptance Of Cultivated Meat, Xiaoyu Dai, Angela K. Y. Leung, Mark Chong
Research Collection School of Social Sciences
Low consumer acceptance emerges as one important barrier to the introduction of cultivated meat, a novel food which offers an opportunity for more sustainable and ethical meat production. Due to the motives for impression management and self-esteem, one factor that could contribute to people's acceptance of cultivated meat is their perceptions of other individuals who consume cultivated meat. In the current research, two online survey studies with 393 Singaporean undergraduate students and 401 American adults were conducted to explore the perceptions of cultivated meat eaters. In both studies, participants were randomly assigned to read one of three profiles that described …
