This research is concerned with identifying the benefits of Continuous Professional Development for the Visual Communications sector in Ireland, with the aim of establishing what benefits exist for both the employee and employer. Research is undertaken to identify CPD programmes that currently exist in other industries in Ireland for the purpose of establishing commonalities and how this may apply to the Visual Communications sector. Green Employees: Organizational Identification In An Environmentally Friendly Company, Jenna Haugen

Environmental sustainability is an issue facing our global society and one that must be addressed through communication in order to encourage change amongst individuals. The current research focuses on the organization, in this instance a “Green” printing company, and its role in building identification amongst employees. This study focuses on environmental sustainable practices initiated or continued by employees through the use of a directed mission statement and organizational rhetoric. Utilizing individual interviews, the findings suggest that by building organizational identification, more environmentally-friendly practices amongst organizational members may be achieved.

Purpose – One explicit leadership role the chief executive officer (CEO) can play during crisis is to assume the role of being the organization's spokesperson. What remains unclear is at what point of the crisis should the CEO step up and how does that impact crisis communication? The purpose of this paper is to examine this question. Design/methodology/approach – The meta-analysis method is used to combine different data in various studies of one topic into one comprehensive study. More than 30 crises are meta-analyzed. The Impact Of Manager's Orientation On The Job Satisfaction Of Their Subordinates, Sarwat Sultan, Afia Hanif

Business Review

The present research was designed to explore the impact of manager’s orientation on the job satisfaction of their subordinates. The sample consisted of 120 employees; 20 managers and 100 of their subordinates ranging in age from 23 to 54 taken from different organizations of Multan. Motivator’s Orientation Questionnaire (Deci, Connell, & Ryan 1989) and Job Satisfaction Questionnaire (Hackman & Oldham, 1975) were used to collect the information. Results indicated that subordinates working under autonomy oriented managers are more satisfied with their jobs as compared to the subordinates working under controlled oriented managers.
