"His search led him back to the Middle Ages and the origins of English parliamentary procedure. More modern versions by Thomas Jefferson and Luther Cushing influenced him. After experimenting with and modifying meeting rules, he published what we now know as Robert’s Rules of Order. His intention nearly 130 years ago was a 16-page pamphlet. The 2000 Revised Version of the book now has 643 pages! When Judy read Chapter One she discovered that these rules were recommend for “deliberative assemblies” or larger groups of over a dozen members." ~ from the article

The purpose of this project is to build a working intranet containing core applications that create the framework for a small business intranet. Small businesses may benefit from an intranet because of its ability to effectively streamline the processes for retrieving and distributing information. Intranets are internal networks using TCP/IP protocols, Web server software, and browser client software to share information created in HTML within an organization, and to access company databases.

This thesis and digital video project will focus on the study of Grassmere Historic Farm and Residence in Nashville, Tennessee, and its relative importance socially, architecturally, and politically to the community of Nashville, the state of Tennessee and the larger context of the United States.

Over the years, research studies have been conducted by students at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Vanderbilt University in Nashville to assemble and catalog artifacts and information for historic preservation. This work is the combination of several different pieces harvested from a cluster in my graduate program that focused on writing the memoir.

Memoir writing, for those who may be unfamiliar with it, is the art of dissecting memories into pictures, textures, aromas, melodies and flavors, then reconstructing them into some coherent form so as the reader may feel as if she has lived the experience herself. This is ultimately the goal of the memoir, but I do not believe it is the purpose of writing it in the first place.
