Measuring Social Capital In Tourism Operation And Its Influences On Peoples’ Involvement, Kalimuththu Shanmuganathan, Nalin Abeysekera, L.P.S. Gamini, Lalith Chandralal

This study developed a reliable scale for measuring Social Capital in the context of tourism operations and examines its influences on Peoples' Involvement. The quantitative research method was employed, and the five stages of data purification processes were performed: identification of dimensions and indicators, item-to-total correlation, and explorative factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and the structural equation model. The study identifies four dimensional scales of social capital across 13 indicators: bonding social capital, social bridging capital, social linking capital, and social harmless capital, and confirms that social capital has a significant influence on peoples' involvement. Serving as prominent leisure and entertainment platforms, tourism shopping malls have evolved their appeal by integrating art exhibition centers, thus magnifying the retail ambiance. This study dived into the correlation between the incorporation of these art centers within tourism shopping environments and the subsequent consumer propensity to visit, encompassing a meticulous evaluation of both the art exhibits attributes and art exhibition center attributes. Workplace ostracism can undermine employee morale, reduce productivity, and negatively impact organizational outcomes. Sparking leadership plays a vital role in shaping workplace culture and mitigating ostracism’s effects. This study investigates the mediating role of work engagement in the relationship between organizational ostracism and sparking leadership. It sheds light on how leaders can foster a more engaged workforce by reducing ostracism within organizations. It was designed as a quantitative causal survey. Using a unique set of data obtained from interviews of financial professionals, this study aimed to explore the heterogeneity among portfolios of mutual funds and exchange-traded funds recommended by financial professionals for fictional client scenarios that control for investor risk and asset allocation. First, the extent to which the revealed asset allocation matched the elicited asset allocation was examined. Next, the portfolios were examined relative to diversification within the stock and bond holdings. Portfolios were examined on the basis of hypothetical historical risk and return. This study examines experienced hoteliers' perspectives on essential operational practices for delivering consistent, high-quality customer experiences, focusing on operational differences between Chinese State-Owned Hotels (SOHs) and International Branded Hotels (IBHs) in China. Through semi-structured interviews with 24 experienced hoteliers from SOHs and IBHs, the research identifies operational practices in IBHs that are perceived as more effective than those in SOHs. Poverty rates in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) have risen, with 47% of the region’s population living in poverty. In Nigeria, approximately 87 million are classified as extremely poor. This study explores the similarities and differences among Argentinean and Colombian employees regarding their perceptions of effective and ineffective managerial and leadership behavior by conducting a qualitative multiple cross-case and cross nation comparative analysis of findings from two previous emic replication studies. The findings of this study suggest more similarities than differences in the perceptions of Argentinean and Colombian workers about effective/ineffective managerial and leadership behaviors and highlight important nuances. Understanding the motivations behind social media participation is crucial for brand managers looking to enhance customer loyalty and attract new customers. This study explores the factors driving consumer engagement with hospitality brand Facebook pages, identifying key motivations and engagement patterns. Utilizing a comprehensive multi-phased methodology—descriptive analysis, factor analysis, canonical correlation analysis, cluster analysis, and discriminant analysis—data were gathered from a survey of 501 adults engaging with the Facebook page. The results show that consumers prioritize brand interaction, social integration, and information-seeking over entertainment or rewards. Advancement teams have a pivotal role in bridging the ever-widening gap in funding for higher education institutions. Artificial intelligence (AI) is growing rapidly in the accounting field as audit firms invest heavily in technology to enhance audit efficiency and effectiveness. Existing research reveals two contrasting behaviors: algorithm aversion, where individuals are reluctant to rely on algorithms even if their recommendations are equivalent to humans, and algorithm appreciation, where individuals excessively rely on AI without exercising professional skepticism.
