JOHNSON CITY (Oct. 26, 2020) – Retired Maj. Gen. Gary Harrell became the fourth alumnus of East Tennessee State University’s Army ROTC Program inducted into Cadet Command’s Hall of Fame during a special ceremony recognizing his extraordinary military career.

Before earning his Green Beret and commanding special operation Delta Force in Somalia later chronicled in the book and film “Black Hawk Down,” Maj. Gen. Harrell was a student at ETSU and member of the Grantland Rice Bowl Championship football team in 1969.

Harrell is one of 22 National Hall of Fame inductees for 2020 selected by Cadet Command. These former …

JOHNSON CITY (Oct. 26, 2020) – East Tennessee State University’s College of Public Health is now offering a Master of Health Administration (MHA), expanding opportunities for current health care professionals, as well as individuals without previous experience in health care.

The MHA prepares professionals to plan, direct and coordinate the business activities of health care providers. ETSU’s MHA has four areas of focus: finance; quality; policy and regulation; and people and partnerships.

We find evidence of taste-based discrimination against rival affiliations in the online market for rental accommodation. Airbnb hosts in college towns increase their listing prices more than hotels on home football games against rival teams. By setting listing prices too high as a result of their affiliation bias against rival fans, hosts experience a 30% reduction in rental income. The overestimation of demand, the cost (inconvenience) of temporary relocation, and the likelihood of incurring damage cannot explain the inverse relation between listing price increases, and rental incomes that is limited to games against rival teams. Bishop came to ETSU as a temporary faculty member in the College of Nursing in 1978. Since that time, she earned tenure and progressed through the faculty ranks, serving in administrative roles including department chair, dean, and assistant/associate vice president prior to becoming a vice president in 2005. The primary purpose of this study was to determine the core competencies needed by State DOT Highway Safety Engineers as perceived by Highway Safety experts in the United States. First, a list of competencies was identified. Next, a panel of Highway Safety experts determined the importance of each identified competency for the current year (2020) and for the future (year 2030). Finally, ratings provided by the panel were tested for the presence of consensus.

Investment Advisor Succession Planning: Attitudes, Norms, And Control, Don Mueth

This study investigated succession planning intentions of investment advisors who lead their small businesses. We employed the theory of planned behavior to better understand the attitudes, norms and perceptions of control that impact these business leaders’ intentions to plan. Our research included a pilot study of interviews with 10 investment advisors and a main study of advisor survey responses. With a sample size of 198 participants, we analyzed survey responses measuring traditional TPB constructs as well as involvement in outside activities. Passive jobseekers are those who already have jobs but are searching for better alternatives. In this paper, we tried to identify the passive jobseekers’ perceived experience towards LinkedIn as a job searching platform. We used Focused Group Discussion (FGD) method to unmask the perception of 150 respondents from Bangladesh and India who use LinkedIn as professional social networking site frequently. This study extends the body of literature concerning security compliance by investigating the antecedents of HIPPA security compliance. A conceptual model, specifying a set of hypothesized relationships between management support, security awareness, security culture; security behavior, and risk of sanctions to address their effect on HIPAA security compliance is presented. This model was developed based on the review of the literature, Protection Motivation Theory, and General Deterrence Theory.
