High rates of turnover among truck drivers in the United States limit the abilities of organizations to effectively move freight if organizational leaders cannot efficiently and economically replace drivers. The purpose of this correlational study was to examine the relationship among compensation, benefits, intrinsic motivators, and potential referral recruiting in transportation organizations. Herzberg’s 2-factor theory was the theoretical framework for this study. Secondary data were collected for 566 Class A truck drivers from an Illinois-based partner organization’s 2018 employee satisfaction survey. The results of the multiple linear regression analyses indicated a significant relationship exists, F(3,562) = 258.323, p < .001, R2 = .580, among compensation (β = .231, p < .001), benefits (β = .101, p < .002), intrinsic motivators (β = .554, p < .001), and potential referral recruiting in transportation organizations. Overall, the independent variables accounted for 58% of the variance in the dependent variable with intrinsic motivators having the largest effect. The implication of these findings for positive social change includes equipping business leaders with information about motivational factors for recruiting drivers through referrals, which might increase community employment levels to improve the standard of living.

In the first chapter, I find counties more likely to be affected by climate change pay more in underwriting fees and initial yields to issue long-term municipal bonds compared to counties unlikely to be affected by climate change. This difference disappears when comparing short-term municipal bonds, implying the market prices climate change risks for long-term securities only. Higher issuance costs for climate risk counties are driven by bonds with lower credit ratings. The purpose of this research was to identify the legging features that athleisure consumers desire and the performance problems they frequently encounter. A non-probability sample (n=133) of college students who identified as female and wore leggings for non-athletic purposes were surveyed. The questionnaire was designed based upon examination of online product reviews and current complaints with legging products. The results of the survey were used to design and complete a laboratory evaluation. The goods-dominant model of customer value involves a ratio of benefits received in exchange for sacrifices given. Service-dominant logic suggests a different view with the idea that all value is co-created by the customer. But value measurement challenges persist, and definitions of co-creation vary. These problems arise, in part, because goods-dominant thinking about value is largely set aside in the application of SD logic. Yet, the classic goods-dominant customer value model can be blended, joined, and advanced with theoretical principles from SD logic such as co-creation.

A variety of scales exist related to culture, but the literature lacked a scale measuring Attitude Toward Cultural Souvenirs (ATCS). The purpose of this study was to fill this literature gap by developing and testing a scale to measure ATCS. The scale development approach recommended by Churchill (1979) and Netemeyer, Bearden and Sharma’s (2003), which uses theory to guide the conceptualization and development of measurement items, was adopted. Twitter global usage has increased as a source of information during the past decade. This study explores different types of Twitter messages sent by a collegiate athletic department and analyzes the impact of these messages on attendance at home athletic events during the NCAA football season. The data examines five message categories: interactivity, content, promotional, information sharing, and noise. Noise accounts for any message that is not related to the studied sport season.
