A research article, published in the September 2016 issue of the Journal of the Association for Information Systems, investigates how organizations pursuing different business strategies can generate performance gains from information technology (IT). The study, co-authored with Paul Tallon (Loyola University Maryland), Tim Coltman (University of Wollongong), and Rajeev Sharma (University of Technology Sydney), finds that traditional approaches for assessing the alignment between IT and business strategy are unable to explain how IT is used to drive new strategies and create future business benefits. Popular convention is to initially withdraw approximately 4% of the retirement savings and increase that dollar amount each year by inflation. But, what if 4% isn't enough? How long will retirement funds last if a newly retired person needs 5%, 6%, or even 10%? Modern Portfolio Theory (MPT) suggests that an investor only needs to choose between 2 assets, the risk free rate and an optimal risky portfolio. What does it mean to be an ethical businessperson, and how does an ethical businessperson create, locate, organize, and evaluate business information? Critical business information literacy (CBIL) is the application of social justice to business information literacy. This article seeks to define, discuss, and realize CBIL by tracing the literatures of critical librarianship, critical management, and corporate social responsibility. To establish best practices, the authors drew upon applications of CBIL at four institutions of different size, geography, and scale. The intent is to provide spaces and foundations for further CBIL application and discussion.

The goal is not only a reduction in manufacturing times and costs but also quality enhancement. Major League Baseball pitcher Roger Clemens has been accused of using performance-enhancing drugs to boost his performance. If Clemens used ergogenic aids consistent with the accusations of use, then unusual changes in productivity may be evident in his performance record. Two previous studies have examined Clemens’s career and reached conflicting conclusions: Bradlow et al. (2008) declares Clemens’s career to be “atypical” while Albert (2009) finds Clemens’s productivity to be unusually strong but similar to other pitchers who have not been linked with performance-enhancing drugs. New services are brewing at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln's Food Innovation Center (http://innovate.unl.edu/food-innovation-center) . Partnering with American Beer Equipment in Lincoln, the university’s Department of Food Science and Technology is bringing a 3.5 barrel, semi-automated brew house online in theFood Innovation Center pilot plants.
