In this study, the results on the difference between reporting under IFRS 8 “Operating Segments” and under IAS 14 “Segment Reporting” are reported for a sample of foreign publicly traded companies listed on the U.S. stock exchanges for the periods of pre- and post-adoption of IFRS 8. Seven aspects related to the comparison are examined: definition of segments, number of segments disclosed, line items reported for each segment, number of items and words reported for segments, number of geographic areas disclosed, definition of geographic segments, and items reported in geographic disclosure. Japan's central bank recently instituted a significant expansionary monetary policy. The market's immediate response was to increase, and the rise has continued since the announcement. Easy money provides liquidity. While this can be offset by inflation, the lack of wage growth has kept inflation muted. Thus, equity markets have responded favorably. The report first briefly explains the real estate development business from the developer’s perspective. It then identifies the components of a typical development agreement. Following this, it describes how agreements change and grow over time and offers an outline of the negotiation process. The appendices provide an overview of five development agreements and highlights interesting provisions that may be food for thought during negotiations on future development agreements. Leading Economic Indicator Reports

The Leading Economic Indicator – Nebraska (LEI-N) rose by 1.16% during April 2013. The increase in the LEI-N, which predicts economic growth in the state six months in the future, suggests moderate economic growth in Nebraska during the fall of 2013. Looking at individual components of the LEI-N, five of the six components of the LEI-N rose during April, while the sixth component, manufacturing hours, remained unchanged. Single-family building permits rose, rebounding from a sharp decline in March. Airline passengers counts also expanded in April, along with business expectations. In particular, respondents to the Survey of Nebraska Business projected an …
