Scholars and practitioners are interested in college attainment as an area of inquiry because post-secondary graduation is linked to increased life-long learning desires and skills as well as other benefits that will influence the effectiveness of future workplace training, development, and educational opportunities. For example, Pascarella and Terenzini (2005) stated that college not only influences employment and earnings but it also impacts moral, psychosocial, and cognitive characteristics in addition to attitudes, values, and quality of life. The 2009 Pay and Pension Commission (PPC) Report is a major departure from the previous reports in so far as it examines compensation reforms as part of the overall reforms of the whole value china of human resource policies of the government. The Report’s findings are based on the basic premise that the channel of economic growth filtering down effectively to the poor and less privileged is a function of public sector governance – policy making, regulation, implementation of projects and programs, and delivery of basic services. The Modern American Entrepreneur: Characteristics, Formative Legislation, And Modern Education, Jeremy S. Office

Graduate Student Dissertations, Theses, Capstones, and Portfolios

This research began by exploring traits and characteristics of the American entrepreneur. It continued by offering a history of these individuals, focusing primarily on the history of laws and regulations which have both positively and adversely affected the practice of entrepreneurialism in the United States. Current laws that affect entrepreneurship, along with the current state of entrepreneurial education in business schools, are explored in depth. This study concludes that the current system of business regulations and entrepreneurial education are flawed and that their failings have produced generations of business students who are unable to reach their full potential.
