Portfolio managers are charged with maximizing returns for a given level of risk. There are practical problems that arise in creating an efficient portfolio and maintaining a target level of risk and return. This paper will identify two important factors that a manager needs to address in creating and managing a portfolio. The first step in creating a portfolio should be the establishment of the structure of the portfolio or the portfolio policy, what asset classes it holds and in what proportions. As part of an effort to keep an MIS curriculum in line with market demand, a sample of job postings from Monster.com was taken over a one year period. A list of most frequently requested skills and knowledge was created for jobs requiring a bachelor’s degree in information systems (IS) or management information systems (MIS). The results support the importance of verbal and written communications. The skills lists were further broken down into four traditional career paths: database, networking, systems analysis, and programming. A cluster analysis of the data revealed three basic skill groups: analysis, programming, and networking.

It evaluates the mainstream view depicted by Helm and Pearce and analyses economic externalities in context, conventional economic approaches and imperfect information.

Big Red has been the mascot for Western Kentucky University’s Hilltopper athletic teams since 1979 and subsequently is the university’s quintessential spirit ambassador. This article examines Big Red’s origins, the students who have portrayed this spirited character, and the characteristics that make the creature unique amongst collegiate mascots.

Teens, like other age groups, often use the World Wide Web to search for health information. The health-related needs and interests of teens differ somewhat from other age groups. Good health Web sites for teens are hard to construct. Health Web sites for older teens may include content inappropriate for some school and library settings. No single site can be recommended overall. The age of users and the setting in which the information is to be used are important considerations.

The opening of the Palace of Auburn Hills, the SkyDome, and Oriole Park at Camden Yards led to the beginning of a construction boom in professional sport. In the National Football League (NFL) alone, 26 stadiums have been built or renovated in the past 10 years. Due to the additional revenue generated by these facilities and the NFL's current revenue sharing system, professional football franchises are building new stadia for economic reasons rather than to replace unusable or unsafe facilities. Value creation in the supply chain has attracted considerable attention in the literature. It has typically been characterized as being the result of either external or organization spanning, or internal efforts to improve supply chain performance. Few studies have examined the simultaneous effects of internally and externally focused efforts to improve supply chain performance. Moreover, there is no discussion in the literature of the precursors or initial conditions that lead to successful supply chains. "His search led him back to the Middle Ages and the origins of English parliamentary procedure. More modern versions by Thomas Jefferson and Luther Cushing influenced him. After experimenting with and modifying meeting rules, he published what we now know as Robert’s Rules of Order. His intention nearly 130 years ago was a 16-page pamphlet. The 2000 Revised Version of the book now has 643 pages! When Judy read Chapter One she discovered that these rules were recommend for “deliberative assemblies” or larger groups of over a dozen members." ~ from the article
