Therefore, this research aims to examine whether women who work or have worked in STEM fields in Kosovo …

As a result of globalization, overproduction, short life cycle of products, competition and uncertain domestic markets, businesses are extending their operations in international scale (Santoso & Loosemore, 2013; Grisham, 2011)

Projects are implemented with the goal to introduce changes and to deliver unique products based on customer requirements, (Grisham, 2011; Kerzner, 2009), however as a result of free movement and shared market (like European Union), innovations on technology (e-business, teleworking), outsourcing and new product development, projects are implemented within international scale and people and materials for international projects are now sourced globally (Grisham, 2011).

River Cities Industrial and Organizational Psychology Conference

As the private sector continues to come under scrutiny from stakeholders for sustainability behaviors, it has become increasingly important to effectively assess the cost-benefit of sustainable corporate social responsibility (Stahl et al., 2020). The increasing value for sustainability has led to a reassessment of the bottom line that includes people, planet, and traditional notions of profit. The widespread adoption of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) metrics and ratings (Howard-Grenville, 2021) demonstrates that organizations need to strive to perform to maintain competitive relevance. However, the question remains, how do industry professionals assess the value of implementing sustainability in organizations? HR professionals, …

The Cost Of Big Data: Evaluating The Effects Of The European Union’S General Data Protection Regulation, Kara Rebecca White

EURēCA: Exhibition of Undergraduate Research and Creative Achievement

In the 1990’s the World Wide Web was created, drastically changing the way we do business, communicate, and live our lives. Ten years later in the early 2000’s the dot com boom happened, and several years later, new technology giants emerged—like Amazon, Google, and Facebook. From this, we now face “big data” that promises to solve world problems, but has the potential to create turmoil and malfeasance. My research examines the impact of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) enacted in the EU in 2016 on firm value using Tobin’s Q and CARs. Using regression analyses, I observe that Tobin’s …

Finding Similar Stocks By Detecting Cliques In Market Graphs, Sudhashree Sayenju

Symposium of Student Scholars

The stock market provides an abundant source of data. However, when the amount of raw data becomes overwhelming it grows increasingly difficult to know how the stocks interact with each other. Stock data visualization as a market graph serves as one of the most popular way of summarizing important information. When modelling the data as a graph, vertices correspond to stocks and edges correspond to strong correlation in their pricing in a certain period of time. This project presents a technique to find stocks that behave very similarly. Such information helps investors make decisions on which stocks to purchase next. …
