Eastern Illinois University is a community enthusiastically engaged in intellectual exploration. This includes faculty testing the boundaries of knowledge within their disciplines and the boundaries of how to convey that knowledge to their students. It also includes students, both graduate students joining with their faculty mentors in pressing the disciplinary boundaries, and undergraduate students discovering the front edges of the disciplines under the guidance of their instructors. Accenture, through its Corporate Citizenship Program, provided consulting services to Alvis, a nonprofit agency whose programs include workforce development services for individuals with criminal justice involvement. Employment is important for justice-involved individuals, yet they face a variety of barriers, such as the stigma of having a record, low levels of education and skills achievement, lack of transportation, time out of the workforce, etc. This project's purpose was to develop a demand-led skilling and employment plan to provide more opportunities to Alvis' 7,000+ annual clients by strengthening and enhancing Alvis' workforce development services. In order to enhance student experiential learning, Franklin University's Department of Accounting, Finance and Economics continued its third year efforts in participating in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program in 2016, in conjunction with United Way's Tax Time Coalition of Central Ohio and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The VITA program prepares free federal and state tax returns for low to moderate income taxpayers in the central Ohio community. During the 2016 tax season, 14 volunteer undergraduate students, alumni and administrative personnel were trained and received IRS certification to serve the community; the efforts of the volunteers in the …

The combination of stress types, acute, episodic, chronic, and traumatic stress, without stress management practices can greatly affect the employee and organization.
