New research by Utah State University Huntsman School of Business Professor Julena Bonner finds that when employees have a good relationship with their supervisor, they are more likely to model their supervisors' morally questionable behaviors.

This report discussed the preliminary results of a U.S. Geological Survey and the State of California joint investigation of Monterey Bay. The objective of the survey was to delineate the groundwater basin offshore, to determine the distribution and locations of fresh water aquifers by locating areas in the Monterey Submarine Canyon and the ocean bottom in Monterey Bay where aquifers might outcrop and thus be areas of entrance for seawater. The purpose of the 1971 California Department of Water Resources (DWR) Bulletin No. 176 was to bring the wealth of land information assembled by the DWR over a 20-year period to the attention of public and private planning groups. The DWR and it's predecessor agencies had conducted surveys to monitor the development of California's lands in order to determine the changing needs for water management. In order to fulfill Monterey County's need for a long-term water resources management plan to ensure good quality water, improve existing water quality, and to provide adequate water supplies, the county developed the Salinas River Basin Management Plan. The goal was to stop seawater intrusion, create a long-term balance between recharge and withdrawal, and to provide a sufficient water supply for Salinas Valley up to the year 2030. Considering the significance of competition and concentration in pricing, efficiency, productivity and stability of banking sector, this paper has explored the competitive behavior and concentration level in the banking sector of Bangladesh considering 20 commercial banks for the period of 2004-2013. The level of competition has been tested using the Panzar and Rosse model while the level of concentration has been analyzed using concentration indices and the Herfindahl-Hirschman indices in terms of assets, loans, and deposits. The findings point to a non-concentrated market with monopolistic competition in the banking sector of Bangladesh. This paper contributes to the understanding of …

Abstract

This paper examines the impact of real interest rate on the real exchange rate in Japan using Two Stage Least Square econometric techniques. The two instruments used are money supply and gross domestic product growth rates. The result provides support for the theoretical and empirical evidences of positive relationship between real interest rate and real exchange rate in Japan. The estimation also shows that there is positive relation between trade and Japanese Yen over the period considered in the study. On April 23, 1996, Monterey County Water Resources Agency filed with the State Water Resources Control Board Application 30532 in order to obtain a water right for the 27,900 af of water stored in Nacimiento Reservoir which is not covered by License 7543. Permit 10137 authorized the diversion of 350,000 af of water from the Nacimiento River to storage in the Nacimiento Reservoir. The subsequent License 7543 issued in 1965 confirmed the diversion. Using more sophisticated measuring technology in the 1990s, it was determined that the actual capacity of the Nacimiento Reservoir was actually 377,900 af. The State Water Resources …

The Monterey County Water Resources Agency (Agency) is responsible for the management and planning of water resources within Monterey County The agency uses a network of wells to monitor groundwater conditions in the Salinas Valley ground water basin (Figure 1). The progressive advancement of the seawater intrusion front into groundwater zones and the understanding of the northern Salinas ground water basin hydrogeology have been documented by the Agency since the 1950s. Seminars in Local and Global Regional Economies

The prevalence of "vertical specialization" and global value chains (GVCs) demands that we think differently about international trade and its relationship to employment. This talk discusses employment effects of GVCs trade. Dr. Jiang argues that the expansion of foreign high value-adding activities in the upper stream of GVCs is likely to lead to a decline of domestic value-added share, leading to intensification of international and domestic distributional conflicts.

This 1974 report about the geology of the southern Salinas Valley was concerned mainly with relating the occurrence of petroleum and other mineral commodities to the Cenozoic history of the area. The investigation had two phases. First phase involved detailed geologic mapping of quadrangles that cover most of Tertiary beds west of the Salinas River. Second phase included a reconnaissance geologic mapping to extend the results of the first phase to a larger area. The report summarizes results of the geologic investigation of the entire southern Salinas Valley area.
