This paper empirically examines the effect of banks' revenue diversification on the stock-based return and risk measures using data on the ASEAN-5, and addition from China, Japan, and South Korea banking sector. This paper use panel Fixed Effect and robustness test with Random Effect and TSLS. We use non-interest income share as a measure for revenue diversification. We find that revenue diversification has no effect on bank market value but significantly decrease bank total risks. This article contributes to country specific result on the responses of sector stock indices to crude oil price changes. Using linear and asymmetric models and by studying the association of crude oil and stock price, this article aims to explain about the short-term responses of Indonesian sector stock indices to crude oil price changes. Besides, we also try to figure out whether there are asymmetric responses within. Our findings suggest that the strength and the sensitivity of this association vary across sectors, and the effects are positive for all sectors. Women In Top Management And Bank Performance: Evidence From Indonesia, Hunik Sri Runing Sawitri, Wisnu Untoro, Irwan Trinugroho

The Indonesian Capital Market Review

We investigate the impact of the presence of women in top management on bank performance controlling for bank specific factors, ownership and governance. By making use of sample of 70 Indonesian banks in a cross section study, we find strong evidence that the presence of women in the executives is negatively associated with firm performance. Moreover, we examine the moderating effect of TMT organizational tenure and TMT age. However, only little evidence is found in the effect of our moderating variables.

In this paper, we use Markov switching autoregressive model and bivariate VAR model to analyze the empirical relationship between stock return and trading volume based on stock market cycles. Using daily data for the IHSG closing price and trading volume from 2010 to 2014, we identify the bull and bear phases in Indonesia stock market, then we analyze the return–volume relationship in both contemporaneous and dynamic context. We find that (1) there is a positive contemporaneous return–volume relationship in both bull and bear markets, which is only significant in bull markets; (2) no evidence of asymmetry in contemporaneous relationship is …

The relationship between collaboration with competitors and goods innovation performance was investigated along with the moderating effect of the innovating firm's technological capability. The hypothesis that collaboration with competitors has an inverted U-shaped relationship with goods innovation performance was tested using data on new goods introductions from 749 Iranian firms. The results support the balance between competition and collaboration by confirming that collaboration with competitors contributes considerably to successful goods innovation. The positive influences of co-optation certainly seem consistent with the cooperative arguments that collaboration with competitors increases absorptive capacity, improves information exchange and facilitates joint problem solving. This paper reports the sources of productivity growth of 23 Indonesian airports foryears 2006-2010. Using input slack-based productivity index (ISP), we disaggregatetotal factor productivity change into each input productivity change. Apron areaand terminal area are chosen as input variables while aircrafts’ movement is theoutput. By classifying the airports based on two operators, this study finds thatairports under the management of Angkasa Pura 1 (AP1) show higher productivitygrowth than Angkasa Pura 2 (AP2), whose growth is mainly driven by technicalprogress in apron areas. Moreover, the productivity decline of AP2 was mostlydue to inefficient use of terminal areas.

This paper aims to analyze how work overload influences turnover intentions of newly hired junior auditors in public accounting offices. Job satisfaction, work related stress and work life conflicts are used as mediating variables between work overload and turnover intention. This study employed 141 auditors from several accounting firms operating in the Greater Jakarta region. The sample was selected using purposive sampling. Three mediation hypotheses were tested using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness of linkage program between Islamic Banking (IB) and Baitul Maal Wat Tamwil (BMT) on BMT financing growth and profitability. This study also aims to compare three linkage models and to explore the keys factors that affect the implementation of linkage program. To achieve these objectives, both quantitative and qualitative research methods are employed. The dataset consists of the financial statement of 26 BMT in Indonesia and interviews with 12 managers of BMT and IB in Jakarta.
