1. The median party size of visitors to Wet N' Wild's Summer Night was four. This was consistent in both phases of the survey. 2. Over one third of the respondents decided to come to the Summer Nights event on the day of their visit, one quarter decided a day prior, and one quarter decided 2-7 days prior to their visit. 3. Slightly more than one half of the respondents entered the park after 5 P.M. citing the half price admission and convenient time as their primary motivation for coming in the evening. To facilitate and stimulate the process of development planning of Kishiwada City, management of Fukunan Kaihatsu Company authorized a charrette conference in which company management and an outside group of planning professionals addressed the question of an appropriate concept for development on this site. This report endeavors to summarize the findings of the charrette and its preparatory work. Sections of the report include: 1) introduction, 2) site conditions 3) market orientation, 4) recommended land use, and 5) site planning. The proposed long-term redevelopment of Kishiwada City includes residential, hotel, and visitor attraction elements.

Eskew Filson Architects was retained by the Downtown Development District to be the lead consultant in the preparation of a Downtown Riverfront Development Plan for Baton Rouge, Louisiana. As a member of the Eskew Filson Design Team, Harrison Price Company (HPC) assisted in assessing the economic potential of alternative project components and preparing the recommended development program. 1. Almost one half of the respondents were somewhat familiar with Wet N' Wild while more than one third were unfamiliar. Compared to May 1990 survey, a larger proportion of the respondents (20%) were very familiar with Wet N' Wild. 2. The majority of the respondents (87%) had never visited Wet N' Wild. One half of June respondents who had visited the park, went there within the past two years. About 40% had visited the park over five years ago. 3. The purpose of the focus group sessions was to identify significant perceptions about Spain from Los Angeles residents who traveled to Spain and other foreign destinations. In particular, the discussions focused on the image of Spain as a vacation destination, their experiences there, motivation to travel to Spain, and exposure to promotion in the Los Angeles area. The methodology used was to start each discussion by introducing broad issues of vacation travel, traveling to foreign destinations, and incrementally narrow down to a full discussion about Spain as a vacation destination.

Kempenso Steenkolenmijnen (KS) the Belgian national coal corporation is investigating the feasibility of developing a major recreation/leisure/education center, dubbed the E.R.C. Project. in Limburg province. As a check on the planning process KS retained the Harrison Price Company (HPC) to organize and carry out a charrette conference directed at reviewing the existing concept from a market and economic viewpoint. HPC and KS invited a group of designers, concepteurs, planners, and experts in the recreation and leisure time business to a four day conference on March 20-24, 1989.
