Travel restrictions and border closures during the COVID-19 epidemic drastically reduced air traffic that affected the aviation sector. With an eye toward regional variances and public-private alliances, this essay investigates how government policies, financial interventions, and regulatory frameworks assisted recovery attempts. The essay also looks at how network-based resilience models lower vulnerabilities and improve operational connection, thus guaranteeing future disturbance readiness. Autoregressive integrated moving average models, among other forecasting instruments, help to forecast aviation demand and match recovery plans with changing market dynamics. Business is commonly understood as a parent discipline of tourism research, making business journals essential for epistemological inquiry. This paper reviews tourism literature in business journals, analysing the presence of Critical Tourism Studies, which addresses limitations of management-oriented approaches. Our analysis reveals limited engagement with Critical Tourism Studies in business journals, only 27% of reviewed articles aligning with its tenets. We propose a framework for Critical Tourism Business Studies that identifies knowledge gaps and highlights future directions for scholars publishing tourism-related topics in business journals. The rapid expansion of tourism in Bali and Lombok has precipitated a state of overtourism, critically challenging their ecological and socio-cultural carrying capacities. This study, conducted between 2023 and 2024, employs a qualitative case study approach to investigate the manifestations of overtourism and the efficacy of prevailing mitigation strategies. Data were collected through 32 in-depth interviews, four focus group discussions, and extensive field observations across key destinations in both islands. The findings reveal that overtourism is not merely a function of high visitor numbers but a symptom of systemic governance failure. This paper introduces humanitarian hospitality as a conceptual framework for understanding relational ethics and care practices in crisis-affected tourism. While volunteer tourism, disaster recovery travel, and solidarity-based travel bring individuals into crisis-affected destinations, the hospitality that unfolds in these non-commercial encounters remains under-theorised. Drawing on philosophical perspectives and exploratory qualitative insights from 145 Red Cross and Red Crescent volunteers and aid workers, the study examines how emotional labour, ethical care, and informal hosting are enacted in contexts of conflict and displacement. While researchers are in agreement about the positive relationship between spiritual activities (SAs) and mental health (MH) among the general population, the relationship between spiritual tourism (ST) and MH, particularly among young adults, is yet to be adequately investigated. As such, this research was conducted to determine the contribution of ST towards the MH of the younger generation.
