Problem definition: : This study identifies a resource misallocation problem in Medicare Advantage (MA), the United States' largest healthcare capitation program, which may result in discrepancies between patients' health status and the healthcare resources allocated to them. Methodology/results: : Utilizing a large commercial insurance database with claims from more than 2 million MA enrollees, this research investigates the allocation of MA capitation payments. By exploiting an exogenous policy shock on MA capitation payments through a difference-in-difference design, we find empirical evidence of an illegal practice known as "cross-subsidization." As of June 2024, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved 950 medical artificial intelligence (AI) devices. The current regulatory framework freezes AI algorithms after approval, requiring new submissions for updates to ensure compliance with Good Machine Learning Practices (GMLP). This approach imposes a significant administrative burden, while hindering the ability of AI algorithms to learn from new data. To address these challenges, the FDA has explored a novel pathway known as Predetermined Change Control Plans (PCCP), allowing developers to outline future changes during initial submissions and exempting approved changes from regulatory review. This study investigated media framing of environmental issues in Jordanian digital newspapers. The study employed a media survey approach with content analysis of 335 journalistic articles published on the websites of three major Jordanian newspapers (Al-Ghad, Al-Dustour, Al-Rai) from January 1, 2022, to June 30, 2022. Multi-stage sampling ensured representativeness. Results showed all three Jordanian digital newspapers addressed environmental issues, with Al-Ghad leading (40%), followed by Al-Dustour (31%) and Al-Rai (29%). The study found a diversity of sources in journalistic treatment (officials: 29%, news agencies: 18.5%, journalists: 12.8%). The study aimed to determine the extent to which university students in Hebron Governorate rely on social media platforms for coverage of the October 7th war. This study follows descriptive research, using a media audience survey methodology. Data were collected using a questionnaire administered to a random sample of university students in Hebron Governorate, consisting of 211 students. The study reached several conclusions most notably: that the reliance of university students in Hebron Governorate on social media to follow news about the war on Gaza is high, with a percentage of 69.5%. The World Health Organization has designated Pseudomonas aeruginosa as a critical pathogen for the development of new antimicrobials. Bacterial viruses, or bacteriophages, have been used in various clinical settings, commonly called phage therapy, to address this growing public health crisis. Here, we describe a high-resolution structural atlas of a therapeutic, contractile-tailed Pseudomonas phage, Pa193. We used bioinformatics, proteomics, and cryogenic electron microscopy single particle analysis to identify, annotate, and build atomic models for 21 distinct structural polypeptide chains forming the icosahedral capsid, neck, contractile tail, and baseplate. Court decisions in Pennsylvania and Texas have resulted in conflicting rulings regarding the FTC's authority to enforce such a ban. A Pennsylvania district court upheld the FTC's power to regulate non-compete agreements, while a Texas court ruled against it, declaring the ban arbitrary and capricious. Background: This study aimed to identify behavioral factors that affect patient attendance in outpatient clinics, especially those related to rescheduling. Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on 20,386 appointment records for 6,252 patients in an outpatient specialty clinic at a women’s and children’s hospital in Singapore over 34 months (January 2012–October 2014). Multivariate logistic regression was used to analyze the influence of independent variables on appointment no-shows. Results: The average no-show rate of the study population was 28.87%. Purpose: This study evaluated the outcome of vital pulp therapy (VPT) in permanent first molar teeth using Biodentine (Septodont, Saint Maur des Fosses, France) or ProRoot MTA (Dentsply Tulsa Dental Specialties, Johnson City, Tenn.) in pediatric patients. Methods: Permanent first molar teeth with or without a history of pulpitis from patients aged 7 to 14 years old were treated at the Graduate Endodontic Clinic from September 2007 to August 2022. Despite the frequency of cannabis use, limited research has examined how employees’ cannabis use relates to job attitudes and behaviors. This study responds to calls to examine the effects of employee cannabis use on work-relevant outcomes by exploring how employee cannabis use relates to job satisfaction and voluntary absenteeism by analyzing a sample of 526 employed young adults from the most recent three waves of the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth (NLSY) Child and Young Adult Cohort. Health disparities refer to differences in health outcomes between groups, often measured by prevalence, morbidity, or mortality (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], 2020). Health inequalities are measurable differences in health status that may arise from biological, social, or environmental factors (World Health Organization [WHO], 2019).
