Predicting sustainable consumption behavior is particularly important in the field of marketing and public policy making, as environmental sustainability becomes a major concern for the public and private sector. This paper aims to contribute to the development of the extended theory of planned behavior (TPB) and to gain some insight into what drives students' intentions to purchase green food in Algeria as a developing country. Results from multiple linear regression (MLR) using data from the convenience sample of 265 students enrolled at three universities in Algiers, Algeria, shows that attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control (PBC), and environmental concern have …

This study aims to determine the ethical perceptions of housekeeping employees. The field research in the study was conducted with the housekeeping department employees of the hotel enterprises operating in the central district of İzmir in Turkey. The quantitative research method was used in the research and the convenience sampling method was used in collecting the data. The frequency analysis, difference analysis, and relationship analysis were conducted through Jamovi software. Research findings show that the ethical perceptions of housekeeping department employees are high. The study aimed to identify the factors that prevent tourists from participating in online co-creation activities. With this aim, the study sample was selected from the tourists who travelled to Istanbul, who did not participate in co-creation. The data were collected through the questionnaire technique, then, analyzed with descriptive and exploratory factor analysis. The findings of the study showed that three factors prevented the tourists from participating in online co-creation activities. These factors were named as (i) lack of knowledge, (ii) lack of participation in social communication networks, and (iii) personal perceptions of co-creation. Lack of knowledge is the most …

The research was conducted to determine consumer perceptions of the measures that restaurants should take during the COVID-19 outbreak. Restaurant measures observed by individuals who went to a restaurant at least once during the outbreak were identified. Meanwhile, new additional measures developed by the researcher were determined by the participants, and suggestions were developed for the implementation of the restaurants. The research was conducted in Istanbul, Turkey. If there is one sector that cannot move 'online', it is accommodation, and SLEs (small lodging establishments) have taken a merciless beating from COVID-19. Typically family-owned and managed, they have relatively high capital costs and overheads which means that even when revenues stop coming in, those liabilities still have to be met. This study by Dr. Manuel Rivera, Dr. Murat Kizildag, and Dr. Robertico Croes, of the Rosen College of Hospitality Management, shows how a detailed break-even analysis can inform a business’s strategy for survival within the important SLE sector.

Technology is moving fast, and accordingly, robots are being successfully integrated into several hospitality organizations to improve customer experiences. Theme parks could benefit from robots, to provide efficient and cost-effective services. Yet, there is a lack of research investigating customer perceptions of robots in theme parks. Dr. Ady Milman, Dr. Asli Tasci, and Dr. Tingting Zhang, from UCF Rosen College of Hospitality Management, conducted the first investigation into how certain robotic qualities influence customer’s perceptions of and loyalty to the theme park. Their research could inform the future integration of robot technology into theme parks.

This is a surprising but statistically validated fact revealed in a Gallup poll, and it has prompted Rosen College researchers to investigate how far it applies to hospitality. The COVID-19 pandemic has had a major impact on the way in which patients access health care from their service providers. Purpose: Underpinned by the consumer-based model of authenticity (CBA), this study investigated whether leisure involvement, object-based and existential authenticity, host sincerity, and engagement stimulate positive memorable visitor experiences in a distinctive commercial hospitality setting: a living history site. Methodology: Quantitative data were gathered from living history site visitors (n=1004), with partial least squares structural equation modelling used to test the hypothesized relationships. Findings: The results confirm the inclusion of the hypothesized relationships between leisure involvement, sincerity, and authenticity, relative to engagement and subsequent memorability. The findings suggest that engagement can be a predictor of positive memorable experience, contingent on CBA …

Purpose This study sought to understand how having a calling influenced engagement, work–life balance and career satisfaction for Professional Golfers Association of America (PGA) and Golf Course Superintendent of America (GCSA) professionals. Design/methodology/approach A conceptual model was used to examine callings among golf course supervisors and its impact on their engagement, work–life balance and career satisfaction. This study also explored the moderation effect of employees’ generalized or specialized role on the calling–engagement relationship. There are a host of issues that may influence the growth of cannabis tourism including for example state and local regulations, resident opinions about cannabis tourism, adequate infrastructure to support tourists, and the fact that cannabis remains illegal federally (Lovelace, 2019). Three years after recreational cannabis sales started in California, this report explores cannabis tourism as an industry in Humboldt County, California.
