Bartered Bodies: Medieval Pilgrims And The Tissue Of Faith, George D. Greenia
International Journal of Religious Tourism and Pilgrimage
In ‘The Bartered Body,’ George Greenia disentangles the complex desires and experiences of religious travellers of the High Middle Ages who knew the spiritual usefulness of their vulnerable flesh. The bodily remains of the saints housed in pilgrim shrines were not just remnants of a redeemed past, but open portals for spiritual exchange with the living body of the visiting pilgrim.

Finding aid only for Manuscripts Small Collection 3331. Receipts, promotional material, and a photograph of a sign documenting the operation of the Standard Oil Company service station at the corner of College and Seventh streets in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Also includes a paper by Michael Mathews for a museum internship in which he examined the items in the collection. Because of the deteriorated condition of many of the originals, they could not be kept without causing damage to other material. A month of inventory sheets were kept from December 1922 to show a typical month’s operation for the station.

The focus of my study explores how Los Angeles was awarded the 2028 Summer Olympics. Based on historical evidence from secondary sources, The Los Angeles 1984 Olympics revived the Olympic Spirit” that was lost throughout the Cold War. Los Angeles can be seen in close comparison to the London 2012 games for being the first country to host three times, followed by Paris 2024. As I analyzed the total investments that are used toward rerouting the metroline, I will examine the process of transportation for the viewers, spectators, and the athletes themselves. Child, written on letterhead of the Office of the Maysville and Lexington Railroad Company (Northern Division), Maysville, Kentucky. He refers to an earlier report to an investor and details the current cost of construction work on the railroad, including his careful pricing of materials and rolling stock. In particular, he sets out the prices for a contract to construct 33 miles of track to Carlisle, Kentucky.

Dining out during the 1980s in Ireland could be summarised gastronomically by prawn cocktails, Chicken Maryland, Black Forest gateau and bottles of Blue Nun or Mateus Rosé. All this changed with the Celtic Tiger when the Irish public was introduced to Caesar salad, tomato and fennel bread, tapenade and Chardonnay. From 1989 to 1993, Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud was like a lone beacon of consistency in the Irish edition of the Michelin Guide. However, in 1994, five Michelin stars were awarded on the island of Ireland. Change was afoot. Many young Irish chefs and waiters emigrated during the 1980s although some, …
