JOHNSON CITY (July 2, 2020) – A week-long online Digital Media Camp for teens will be offered July 13-17 by the East Tennessee State University Office of Professional Development.
This Teen Renaissance Camp for rising seventh graders and up will cover design elements, principles of animation, how to source images, and how to optimize them for posting on popular social media platforms. Students will learn to create matte paintings within Adobe Photoshop and then animate those images in Adobe After Effects. They will also learn Autodesk Maya basics.

JOHNSON CITY (July 2, 2020) – East Tennessee State University conferred over 2,100 degrees and certificates during a Virtual Commencement Ceremony held May 9.
In addition to awarding bachelors, masters, and graduate certificates, ETSU bestowed doctor of education (Ed.D.), doctor of public health (Dr.P.H.), doctor of audiology (Au.D.), doctor of nursing practice (DNP) and doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees on successful candidates.
Doctor of medicine (MD) and doctor of pharmacy degrees (Pharm D) were awarded during separate virtual ceremonies held May 8.
Forty-seven graduates attained a 4.0 grade point average during their college careers:

Career Pathways launched in August 2017 as the university-wide initiative to provide graduate student professional development. It encompasses both the Preparing Future Faculty program and the Preparing Future Professionals Certificates. The Preparing Future Faculty Certificate was an existing program, started in 2007, while the Preparing Future Professionals Certificate was launched in 2017 concurrently with Career Pathways. Earlier this week the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) released new guidelines for its Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) that affect on-ground international students at ETSU and at all campuses across the United States.

The ETSU Online Radiologic Science degree completion program is designed for working radiologic professionals with an associate of applied science (A.A.S.) degree in radiologic science. JOHNSON CITY – Northeast Tennessee is home to a large number of museums, state parks and heritage sites, and cultural heritage tourism is one of the most important segments of the region’s economy. This fall, students at East Tennessee State University will be able to enroll in a new undergraduate minor or in a graduate certificate in heritage interpretation and museum studies.

COVID-19 is having profound impacts on tertiary education globally. Border closures, cuts to aviation capacity, mandatory quarantine on entering a country, restrictions on mass gatherings, and social distancing all pose challenges to higher education (HE) institutions. Business Schools (BSs) have larger and more internationally diverse cohorts of students and staff, generating particular challenges, but also often have more mature digital and remote education capabilities that enable responses to COVID-19. ACEs are considered traumatic experiences, such as abuse, neglect and family dysfunction that can disrupt the safe, stable and nurturing environments that children need to succeed and thrive. JOHNSON CITY (June 26, 2020) – The Tennessee Small Business Development Center (TSBDC) at East Tennessee State University has announced a partnership with Blackburn, Childers and Steagall, CPAs to provide free assistance with loan forgiveness applications for the Payroll Protection Program (PPP).
Established by the CARES Act, the PPP provides assistance for small businesses to pay up to eight weeks of payroll costs and benefits. Funds can also be used to pay interest on mortgages, rent and utilities. The program is implemented by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) with support from the Department of the Treasury.
