JOHNSON CITY (July 8, 2020) – East Tennessee State University College of Nursing is ranked No. 13 in a listing of “2020’s Best Online Nurse Practitioner Programs” released by EduMed.org. ETSU’s program was EduMed.org’s highest-ranking online nurse practitioner program in Tennessee.
In addition, EduMed.org’s 2020 listings also ranked ETSU’s psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner program 10th in the country.

JOHNSON CITY (July 6, 2020) – East Tennessee State University’s Department of Rehabilitative Sciences is now offering a Sport Nutrition Graduate Certificate, which is designed for professionals and graduate students who are interested in increasing their knowledge of sport nutrition and helping athletes and sports enthusiasts to use food to enhance health and physical performance.
The new program, which begins this fall, can be completed fully online and requires 15 credit hours of graduate coursework.

JOHNSON CITY (July 2, 2020) – A week-long online Digital Media Camp for teens will be offered July 13-17 by the East Tennessee State University Office of Professional Development.
This Teen Renaissance Camp for rising seventh graders and up will cover design elements, principles of animation, how to source images, and how to optimize them for posting on popular social media platforms. Students will learn to create matte paintings within Adobe Photoshop and then animate those images in Adobe After Effects. They will also learn Autodesk Maya basics.

JOHNSON CITY (July 2, 2020) – East Tennessee State University conferred over 2,100 degrees and certificates during a Virtual Commencement Ceremony held May 9.
In addition to awarding bachelors, masters, and graduate certificates, ETSU bestowed doctor of education (Ed.D.), doctor of public health (Dr.P.H.), doctor of audiology (Au.D.), doctor of nursing practice (DNP) and doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees on successful candidates.
Doctor of medicine (MD) and doctor of pharmacy degrees (Pharm D) were awarded during separate virtual ceremonies held May 8.

Career Pathways launched in August 2017 as the university-wide initiative to provide graduate student professional development. It encompasses both the Preparing Future Faculty program and the Preparing Future Professionals Certificates. The Preparing Future Faculty Certificate was an existing program, started in 2007, while the Preparing Future Professionals Certificate was launched in 2017 concurrently with Career Pathways. The Career Pathways program prepares graduate students for successful transition into thriving careers. The competitive workforce views training as an investment in human capital, which is seen as its most valuable asset. In order to meet labor demands of tomorrow, the workforce will depend on higher education to educate workers. This will put academic advisors and the training they receive further in the spotlight, as they play a meaningful role in student success. Training has been shown to increase occupational self-efficacy and impact employee performance, but empirical research is lacking from the advisor perspective to explore their perception of training and occupational self-efficacy. In March 2019, a bomb cyclone produced a historic blizzard as well as flooding that impacted many counties in Nebraska. Given that, did rural Nebraskans experience extreme weather events or natural disasters in 2019? To what extent were they harmed by these weather events? What personal impacts did they experience? How concerned are they about weather events? This paper provides a detailed analysis of these questions. This report details 1,979 responses to the 2020 Nebraska Rural Poll, the 25th annual effort to understand rural Nebraskans’ perceptions. Earlier this week the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) released new guidelines for its Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) that affect on-ground international students at ETSU and at all campuses across the United States.

The ETSU Online Radiologic Science degree completion program is designed for working radiologic professionals with an associate of applied science (A.A.S.) degree in radiologic science.
