Purpose: The purpose of this article is to analyse the possibilities and limitations of using the educational game “Eko Smakosz” in academic teaching, as well as to evaluate the potential of adapting its mechanics for managerial training and scientific research.

Design/methodology/approach: A case study method was employed, comprising quantitative research (pre-test and post-test) and qualitative research (participant observation and DATA model debriefing). The study was conducted on a group of 14 individuals (university students and employees) who played a series of game sessions.

This article extends a keynote from the 16th IMCIC 2025, offering a framework for academic institutions navigating the epistemic shifts prompted by artificial general intelligence (AGI). It argues that traditional disciplinary (Mode 1), interdisciplinary (Mode 2), and transdisciplinary (Mode 3) approaches are increasingly insufficient to address the complexity and plurality of AGI-era knowledge production. Drawing on critical communication theories—such as the Kuhn–MacIntyre thesis on incommensurability, the Bataille–Lyotard notion of invention, Nicolescu–Ostrom's governance frameworks, and Haraway–Scholz's situated knowledge—the article introduces Mode 4: cyber-transdisciplinarity.1 This mode conceptualizes AGI as an epistemic co-agent, enabling real-time mediation, synthesis, and redistribution of knowledge between human …

This study aimed to explore the educational, cultural, and personal challenges faced by Black males in MBA programs and to identify factors that aid their persistence in completing their degrees. The research design employed a qualitative approach to narrative inquiry as its methodology, using one-on-one semi-structured interviews. The study used resilience theory as its theoretical framework, approaching it from both an academic and psychological perspective. Respondents were recruited from the top 50 MBA programs in the United States according to the 2023 edition of U.S News and World Report (2024). In this study, we explored the intersection of performing arts and entrepreneurship through an autoethnographic study of a new arts venture, theLAB*, which participated in the Von Allmen Center for Entrepreneurship's accelerator program at the University of Kentucky. In creating theLAB*, we investigated the feasibility of establishing a dance-forward performing arts presenting organization within a profit-driven entrepreneurial ecosystem. As a multi-generational team of arts managers, we analyzed the experience utilizing scenario-planning and the DIEP (Describe, Interpret, Evaluate, Plan) model of reflection to assess the challenges and benefits of participating in this environment. Predicting The Unpredictable: Advancing Risk Management In Fitness Centers Through Data Science-Driven Judicial Outcome Modeling, Hongyoung Kim

Health, Exercise, and Sports Sciences ETDs

This study developed a prediction model of judicial outcomes in fitness exercise-related injury lawsuits to identify key factors influencing fitness centers’ success in litigation. Using 209 U.S. court cases from Westlaw, Phase One employed text mining and content analysis to identify legal variables. Phase Two applied descriptive statistics and multiple logistic regression to evaluate the combined influence of these variables on judicial outcomes. For the multiple logistic regression analysis, the sample size was reduced to 184 cases after excluding 25 remanded cases.

Results showed that victim behavior, hazardous facility conditions, and enforceable waivers or exculpatory clause defenses significantly predicted judicial …

We explore identity work among undergraduate business students who resist the identity prevailing in traditional business schools. The study investigates an educational program that fosters identity work, allowing students to add facets to their emergent identity. Through in-depth interviews, the researchers uncovered a process in which students resist the hegemonic identity of business administrators, seeking alternative experiences that redefine their identity. Our research contribution is two-fold. First, we extend the concept of identity workspaces by introducing three mechanisms: autonomy, a psychological safe space, and group embeddedness. International Journal for Business Education

This study examines how peer evaluation functions in global virtual teams, a setting that reflects the collaborative demands of contemporary international business education. The authors tested whether peer evaluation subscales, total peer-report score, and various indicators of team diversity predict team performance, assessed by instructors in a sample of 2,012 students from 445 X-Culture teams. The variables that were good predictors of team performance included the quality of team communication, work ethic, technical competence, generation of ideas, peer engagement, and peer writing skills.
