JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Students interested in a career in medicine now have a new pathway to achieve that goal thanks to two articulation agreements between East Tennessee State University and Carteret Community College that expand advanced degree opportunities offered 100% online.


The agreement provides students who achieve an Associate of Applied Science degree in Medical Assisting or Science Radiography at Carteret Community College, located in Morehead City, North Carolina, with the opportunity to transfer those credits to ETSU to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree.

Operating an unmanned aircraft system (UAS) for commercial purposes in the United States requires the pilot to pass the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA’s) knowledge exam to earn their UAS license. The exam does not include a practical component where flight proficiency is assessed. This represents a source of risk for contractors if flight proficiency is not evaluated in another way. The National Institute of Standards and Technology is a federal agency and has developed the Basic Maneuvering Test (BMT). It is the only nationally recognized UAS flight proficiency exam. The purpose of the study was to examine student perceptions of teaching excellence at different types of higher education institutions. The pressure to publish, larger class sizes, globalization, technological innovation greater accountability for learning, and justification of a college degree’s worth make teaching excellence more difficult to attain. A byproduct of this pressure is an increased emphasis on student evaluations.
