This study addresses this gap by evaluating and comparing the effectiveness of video-based and digital job aid procedural-based microlearning in a corporate setting, utilizing most of the Kirkpatrick Model: learner satisfaction, knowledge retention, and behavior change. Employing a mixed methods approach to gain a comprehensive understanding of microlearning’s application and potential for improving business outcomes, the study incorporates pre- and post-tests, participant interviews, and self-reported questionnaires. Thirty participants completed the study, with equal representation (15 participants each) for both modalities, and interviews …

The 2021 Supreme Court ruling granting college athletes the right to monetize their name, image, and likeness (NIL) was greeted in equal measure by enthusiasm and confusion by college athletes and the institutions for which they compete. This paper suggests an approach whereby college classes can provide guidance for college athletes to navigate the nascent, evolving NIL rules and provide an opportunity for current, relevant project-based learning. The Old Dominion University Name, Image, and Likeness Knowledge Hub had limitations in its deliverable—a guide for college athletes seeking to leverage their NIL rights—but it represents a novel learning opportunity because of …

Live-Art: A Business Plan Of A Start-Up For Art Education And Art Collection, Chuzhe Wang
MA Projects
Live-Art is a start-up venture in New York City that combines online and offline art
experiences, which blurs the boundaries between art education and art collection and organically integrates the two fields. Our philosophy is to inspire people to live with art and create their own art kingdom. By strengthening each individual’s engagement in the art world, we aim to improve our users’ art appreciation perception through art education and to encourage them to create an aesthetic atmosphere for their living environment through art collection. Traditionally, education is more focused on non-profit, while art collection is more on commercialized consumption. …

The War On Tenure, Deepa Das Acevedo
The War On Tenure, Deepa Das Acevedo
Faculty Articles
Legislative attacks on faculty tenure are proliferating at an alarming rate. Politicians seeking to abolish or restrict the practice argue that tenure encourages bad behavior and impedes warranted terminations, granting undeserving academics “jobs for life.” But does tenure really facilitate—much less incentivize—such undesirable outcomes? This Article marshals an original and unprecedented dataset of “tenured-terminations” as well as existing social science research to show that the likely answer to both questions is “No.”
Instead, the data suggest that tenure is largely operating as it should: as a form of “just cause” employment where cause for termination is difficult but not impossible …
