A Comparison Of The Effectiveness Of One-Minute And Five-Minute Timed Writings In First-Semester Typewriting Instruction, Helen E. Adams

This study was designed to determine if reducing the length of timed writings from five minutes to one minute during eight weeks of first semester typewriting would result in lower performance. The control group used 5-minute timed writings during the eight-week period. However, the experimental group used 1-minute timed writings except during the last week of the semester when 5-minute timed-writing posttests were used in both groups.
