East Tennessee State University invites veterans and military service members to enjoy a free lunch on Monday, November 13, the same day the university will hold a Veterans Day Program.

“Your courage, commitment and sacrifice shape the very fabric of our nation and our ETSU community,” ETSU President Dr. Brian Noland wrote in a message to campus earlier this week.

The free lunch is open to ETSU employees and students, as well as community members. Lunch runs from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the ETSU Dining Hall, located on the third floor of the D.P. Culp Student Center.

Psychological Safety And Conflict Management Among Nurse Practitioners In Interprofessional Teams, Scott Tyler Faust

This quantitative correlational study explored the relationships between perceived psychological safety, conflict management styles, and perceived conflict management success among nurse practitioners (NPs) operating in interprofessional acute or critical care teams in the United States. Despite existing literature on conflict management and psychological safety, there is a noticeable gap concerning the interplay of these factors, specifically among NPs. A multi-item survey was developed from validated measures to assess psychological safety, conflict management success, and conflict management style. The final sample included 944 NPs. The findings revealed a statistically significant difference in the scores of perceived psychological safety, depending on the …

George Nichols has made an indelible mark on the history of East Tennessee State University.

Mr. Nichols was born and grew up in Johnson City and graduated from Langston High School as Salutatorian of his class. After graduating from Langston, he was one of four African American undergraduate students who integrated East Tennessee State College, now ETSU, in the fall of 1958 and was one of the first Black members of ETSU's ROTC program.

Emotional intelligence has gained increasing popularity since its definition and subsequent research 30 years ago. Numerous studies have focused on emotional intelligence and undergraduate students, and studies have demonstrated a positive relationship between a student with higher emotional intelligence and their academic and mental abilities. Undergraduate students have also been the focus of research related to self-efficacy and perceived employability, but those two facets have not been tied together with emotional intelligence. East Tennessee State University’s Surveying and Mapping Science Program has enjoyed considerable growth in recent years. It’s a trend that bodes well for ETSU graduates and the region, as the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects the employment of surveyors to grow 11% through 2026.

Part of the reason for enrollment growth: an investment in the technologies needed to offer students hands-on, expert-level training.

The popularity of short-messaging formats, like text and chat, is on the rise in the workplace with many employees preferring this style over long-form options like email. While many businesses expect employees to communicate using short messages, students may be ill-equipped to effectively use these methods due to a lack of formal training. This study sets out to understand students’ experience, confidence, and education related to professional short messaging. Results indicate a correlation between confidence and experience levels in writing text and chat messages. Research Aims: The current research aims to analyse (1) the direct interrelationships of higher education institutions' (HEIs) reputation, student satisfaction, and student loyalty; (2) the mediating effect of student satisfaction on the relationship between HEI reputation and student loyalty; and (3) the moderating role of HEI type (private HEI [PHEI], state university/college [SUC], local university/college [LUC]) on the links between HEI reputation and student satisfaction, HEI reputation and student loyalty, and student satisfaction and loyalty.

Design/Methodology/Approach: All hypothesised relationships were analysed using partial least squares – structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM).
