This study of the impact of video conferencing in students' interactivity in gender segregated universities was conducted at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) as a gender segregated university. The purpose of the study was to identify the affect of video conferencing technology on student-student, and student-instructor interaction. Moreover, the study examined students' willingness tQ participate in BlackBoard online discussion as a strategy to increase student-student and student-instructor interactions in video conferencing courses at gender segregated universities.

My objective for my thesis was to develop a curriculum to be used in the classroom here at Utah State University, on the subject of lean accounting. This article describes the use of team exams as a means of postexam feedback and explains the benefits of their use. Team exams are a simple procedure for those who use exams in their classrooms. Team exams can be a valuable experiential exercise in management classes but offer educational benefits in any class. Among the benefits of team exams are accurate feedback and active engagement of students in postexam review. Team exams can also serve to check the validity of exam questions and reduce the angst often associated with “going over” exams.

Variations In Dropout Rates Across Virginia, Joshua K. Bowser

Undergraduate Theses and Capstone Projects

Using Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regression analysis, this study attempts to capture variation in dropout rates across Virginia counties and cities. With the respective dropout rates as the dependent variable, seven independent variables are used accordingly in order to provide as much explanatory power as possible. At the 10 percent significance level, four of seven variables are statistically significant with an adjusted R2 of .374. Important policy implications can be derived from the model and its statistically significant variables. I joined CLAGS as a board member in 1994, at a transitional moment in its history. The grassroots activist project that Marty Duberman had started in his living room had been recognized as one of CUNY's Research Centers for only a short time at that point, and many people on the board struggled with what it meant to be institutionally affiliated. While the number of job openings within the academic ranks of sport management continues to prosper, the number of women filling these positions remains low. Grappendorf and Lough (2003) reported that women represent only 25 % of professors who hold membership in NASSM, and within doctoral sport management programs, Jisha and Pitts (2004) reported that most students are Caucasian males in their early thirties. Likewise, Morin and Grappendorf (2004) found doctoral sport management students to be 65 % men and 62 % Caucasian. In The New Division of Labor, Levy and Murnane describe a world of work re-shaped by computers where workers whose jobs can be reduced to steps based on rules are replaced, and where jobs that require judgment or negotiation are enhanced. The authors test the hypothesis of Levy and Murnane’s work with a close look at Fall River and New Bedford. These cities, with high unemployment and low rates of educational attainment, show patterns of job replacement by computers as compared with Massachusetts as a whole — a wealthy state with high rates of education, which shows a pattern of …

China’s electronic publishing industry has developed very rapidly over the past decade. China has become one of the electronic publishing centers in Asia and will continue to flourish in the future. Chinese electronic databases provide the most efficient way for scholars, researchers and students to perform searches as well as to provide information for businesses and governments. In this article, the author gives a brief overview of selected databases which represent a small portion of the Chinese electronic resources and hopes it will serve as a reference to Chinese scholars world-wide.
