Study abroad programs have become increasingly popular in recent years as vehicles to prepare students for the global work environment. This paper describes a perspective on how to maximize teaching effectiveness in these programs via developing personal relationships. Based on the teaching of a Principles of Marketing course in Florence, Italy, the author discusses how the special characteristics of the study abroad program enabled the formation of deep faculty-student and peer relationships. Higher education plays a critical role in driving an innovative economy by equipping students with knowledge and skills demanded by the workforce. While researchers and practitioners have developed data systems to track detailed occupational skills, such as those established by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), much less effort has been made to document which of these skills are being developed in higher education at a similar granularity. Using a content analysis of all published Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) of Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA) accredited programs, the current study analyzes SLOs to assess the most frequently used measurable verbs (utilizing a revised version of Blooms’ Taxonomy) and transferable skills (utilizing the definitions provided by AAC&U’s VALUE Outcomes and their corresponding rubrics) emphasized by accredited programs. The Influence Of Organizational Culture On Mission Drift In A Christian University, Mark Reddy

This study addressed a critical gap in the literature by investigating the relationship between organizational culture and mission drift within Christian higher education. While mission drift has been widely discussed in popular press, limited academic research has explored the factors influencing it, particularly organizational culture. Utilizing the Denison Organizational Culture Survey (DOCS) and the Mission Drift Survey, this study evaluated how culture influences mission clarity and safeguards against mission drift in a Christian university. Findings reveal that consistency and mission from the DOCS are strong predictors of mission clarity, with both showing statistical significance (p < .001). In addition, the DOCS elements predicted safeguards against mission drift through consistency and mission at the significance level of p < .05. The study’s results highlight the importance of consistency and mission in combating mission drift, offering Christian higher education institutions practical insights for reinforcing their foundational goals. Additionally, the research contributed to validating the Mission Drift Survey in an academic context, broadening its potential application beyond business and into higher education sectors. This topic is growing, and further research is needed to expand on these findings and explore additional organizational cultural factors.

This paper introduces Sport Social Hub, a collaborative, multi-institutional social media exchange inspired by the Commission on Public Relations Education's (CPRE) emphasis on key knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) in public relations education. Sport Social Hub engaged students from four universities in topical, sports-themed assignments. The article aimed to reveal the level of Arab media coverage of specialized scientific topics and to know the actual need for such programs, especially with the tremendous developments in various fields of life.
