This study aims to analyze how the watermelon is used, interpreted, and disseminated as a symbol of resistance and a form of expression of solidarity with the Palestinian struggle on social media. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach through various literature sources. It draws upon Roland Barthes’ (1977) theory of signs and meaning to examine the symbolic use of the watermelon in this context. This study examines the use of straattaal vocabulary in the television series De Tatta’s (2024), along with language attitudes and linguistic accommodation among youth in the Randstad region of the Netherlands. Straattaal is a form of street language that has developed within the Netherlands’ multicultural urban environments and is primarily used by young people as a means of social expression and identity. This study examines the representation of the bourgeois class in the film Pourris Gâtés (2021) by Nicolas Cuche through the theoretical lens of Jean Baudrillard’s concept of hyperreality and Fredric Jameson’s notion of pastiche. The research problem focuses on how Pourris Gâtés depicts the simulated social transformation of the bourgeois class through the illusion of consumerism and hyperreality. The study employs film discourse analysis using both narrative and visual approaches, grounded in media ideology theory, hyperreality, and the consumption of signs. This paper analyzes the media discourse surrounding advertisements for Indonesian food products, such as the instant noodle brand Indomie, in Arab countries. The expansion of Indonesian food products in international markets, including in Arab nations, is largely driven by effective and culturally adaptive marketing strategies. This study focuses on the analysis of television commercials and advertising posters, aiming to uncover how linguistic, semiotic, and sociocultural elements are employed to construct persuasive advertising messages. This thesis explores the intricate dynamics of voice within South Indian musical traditions, examining it as both a spiritual medium resonating with the divine concept of Nāda-Brahman and a psychological instrument navigating modernity, identity, and cultural hybridity. Employing the Self-Rasa-Chakra framework, derived from Upanishadic and tantric philosophies, alongside autoethnographic narratives and case studies, it investigates how the voice serves as a site of striving. Through an interdisciplinary lens combining ethnomusicology, psychoanalysis, and sound studies, this research delves into the paradox of voice: its role in sacred surrender within Carnatic music, juxtaposed against its individualistic expression in contemporary independent music. This piece is a celebration, an interpretation, and translation of Lao words and of the Lao language as poetry. This poem dissects and discuss the differences between how the word "understand" is conceptualized and embodied in the Lao language versus English. This article gives an account of the development of Buddhist musical practices on the Indian subcontinent from their earliest, datable instances, to the disappearance of Buddhist institutions from India proper, demonstrating the persistence of descendant traditions of Sanskrit Buddhist chant and song in contemporary Japanese, Tibetan, and Newar esoteric Buddhist communities. It is argued that the Buddhist musical theory and praxis of these three cultural spheres both preserve features of ancient and medieval Indian Buddhist music and sonically illustrate the transition from political and social order to de-centralized social organization, a shift that took place between the 7th and …

Artikel ini menyajikan kerangka evolusi kebijakan sosial, dengan fokus khusus pada upaya mewujudkan kebijakan sosial yang berorientasi pada kapabilitas (capability-oriented approach). Penelitian ini disusun berdasarkan karya Sen dan Nussbaum yang memberikan pendekatan kapabilitas sebagai kerangka kerja yang berharga untuk mengembangkan kebijakan sosial guna mendorong pembangunan dan kesejahteraan manusia. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi keterbatasan dan kegagalan kebijakan sosial tradisional, dengan menekankan ketergantungannya pada pertumbuhan ekonomi yang berdampak pada pengorbanan kebebasan dan bakat individu. Penelitian ini membahas mengenai dampak pandemi Covid-19 terhadap tren belanja online di Rusia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi masyarakat di Rusia untuk melakukan belanja online selama pandemi Covid-19 dengan teori perilaku konsumtif oleh Sumartono (2002). Sanggar Seni Tari dan Budaya Sawo Kecik berperan penting dalam kegiatan pelestarian dan pengembangan Tari Topeng Cirebon di era digital melalui berbagai kegiatan yang dipublikasikan secara online. Penelitian ini menganalisis secara semiotika data kegiatan sanggar dari 2022 hingga 2024 yang menyoroti upaya sanggar untuk mempertahankan identitas budaya Cirebon dalam konteks perubahan pola konsumsi budaya akibat digitalisasi. Cornelis Chastelein membeli tanah di daerah Depok dan mempekerjakan budak yang ia merdekakan untuk membentuk kehidupan komunitas sosial yang berpemerintahan mandiri. Sepeninggal Cornelis Chastelein, harta kekayaannya diwarisi sepenuhnya oleh para pengikutnya. Melalui pewarisan ini kemudian budaya Depok mulai berkembang. Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk mengungkap proses terbentuknya Kaum Depok, budaya yang mereka anut, serta identitas yang melekat pada mereka dalam periode 1913-1945.
