Shakespeare’S Prince Of Denmark: Political Pandering In Hamlet, Moriah Theriault

Shakespeare's Hamlet contains frequent cultural ties and insights into Danish tradition that depict intentional effort to represent Danish culture. These accuracies can be seen in the description of the castle in Elsinore, the deep-seated conflicts between Christian forgiveness and revenge, and the traditional cannon salutes featured in Hamlet. Shakespeare created these connections to Danish culture for a political maneuver to win the favor of King James and his wife, the Royal Queen Anne of Denmark.

Nordic right wing populism began in Denmark with the requisite growth in the political and societal power of the Danish People’s Party during the Liberal-Conservative coalition government from 2001 to 2011. As the number of immigrants and asylum-seekers from Middle Eastern countries continues to grow, the “other,” the definition of which is a perceived threat against an ill-defined “people,” is increasingly understood by the Danish People’s Party as Muslim immigrants and their descendants. The "History of the Danish Mission, 1850-1964," gives a detailed account of the Mormon "beginnings" in Denmark and attempts to trace the development of a system of proselyting and its effect upon the lives of both missionaries and converts of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. No attempt has been made in this study to record chronological detail to any extensive degree. Rather, emphasis has been placed on "beginnings" and major historical developments.

It is noted that the University of Oslo had been rejecting members of Nasjonal Samling and German patience was wearing thin. They additionally discussed individual scientists with anti-German sentiments, including Anton Wilhelm Brøgger, Sigurd Grieg, Carl Marstrander, and Johannes Bøe.
